The first premiere of the week comes from Venezuela DJ and producer Dagga, who releases his track entitled ‘Floor Seats’ with Molekül, as they re-launch their sublabel ‘Perfusion’.

Hailing from Maracaibo, Venezuela, Dagga spent his younger years going to his older brother’s raves, absorbing raw techno sounds and futuristic electro from labels of the time, such as Gigolo records. Dagga showcases his razor-sharp ability to slice and dice a variety of flavours like electro, funk carioca, breaks and techno with perfect precision.

In 2020 he released his first EP, House of Flying Daggers, on Jensen Interceptor’s ‘International Chrome’. A very well received album to this date, it combines classic electro and ghetto tech, inspired by the early days of dopplerefekt and D.I.E.

‘Floor Seats’ is laced with energetic stabs and vocals, thunderous low end and pulsating basslines throughout. All of this together results in a rich production that would satiate any electro, ghetto or techno fan in search of a rich, unique and exciting sound that is fit for the dancefloor.

It's been a while! I've been working on a lot of stuff and have been off the radar for a while but I thought I'd start off the 2023 with a new tune I made with the day one Tera Kòrá. Amapiano vibes!!

yet is a slippery word in English. Amorphous, these three letters in different contexts can define contrast or emphasis, set a place in time, show an expectation that something will occur or, paradoxically, that it is likely to stop. 

It is this mercurial nature that makes yet the perfect title for Tresor's latest compilation: the label follows on from the more explorative sections of 2021's landmark Tresor 30 boxed set with a compilation, featuring 13 artists making music that resists easy definition. 

Every track hints at and borrows from the familiar yet none follow the expected path: halfway through Deserto, Nandele &amp; A-Tweed dramatically reveal a very different sonic landscape that was initially suggested; DJ Sotofett collaborates with Tamil artist Kavadi with results that are unlike anything in the Norwegian producer’s catalogue as yet.

Further invention can be found as Jean Redondo's Hypersonic moves across spaces inhabited by digital hardcore and hyperpop before swerving off-road and into a futuristic hip-hop section; on No Longer Human, Ireen Amnes takes a different path at the crossroads melding hyperpop, trance, and sci-fi soundtrack atmospherics, Significant Other heads towards UK Bass and Dubstep, and France's Willis Anne skims by the outskirts of footwork with a piece that is almost completely uncategorisable.

Yet more sonic experimentation comes from E-Saggila, Nadia Struiwigh, NVST, Solid Blake, and Viikatory who offer unique takes on the well-established electro blueprint, while Ryan James Ford, and Nit. both find ways to blend elements normally found in ambient pieces with those heard on a dancefloor.

The feel of the compilation is yet again reflected in the enigmatic artwork by Malik Arbab, where shapes and colours suggest animals and plants but in a world that appears to be transient and constantly evolving.

For this 84th Premiere of 2023, we have a track by the Producer from France devoted to Electro "Jauzas the Shining" titled ‘Fractional Difference’ from the fundraiser compilation for Huwara on the record label founded in Tel Aviv around 2015 by The Models : Confused Machines.

On 26 February, hundreds of Israeli settlers went on a violent late-night rampage in Huwara and other villages in the northern West Bank, leaving one local resident dead and 100 others injured and the town ablaze.

This compilation of music was put together in order to raise funds that can hopefully give some aid to the residents of Huwara, all of the proceeds Confused Machines make from digital sales will go directly to Physicians For Human Rights – Israel (PHRI) www.phr.org.il An NGO that works in the occupied Palestinian territory, promoting Palestinians' right to health and providing direct medical and humanitarian assistance.

The compilation hosts a roster of both local and international artists spanning a wide spectrum of leftfield electronic music. Acid, Drone, Noise, Downtempo, Techno, SoundCollage and more.
All of these tracks are new and have not been heard before, many of them have been created with Huwara and Palestine in mind.

Though we know our reach is limited, we see this as a part of a bigger political effort to help raise awareness in our artistic circles and set motion to positive forces in dark times.

Transparent Sound are the original dons of UK electro, not exactly household names yet an act with so many under-repped classics that once you dive into their catalogue you might end up emptying your bank account on Discogs. 

To save you going down this calamitous path as well as to finally, raise TS to the level of notoriety they deserve, Tresor Records is very proud to announce the release of Accidents 1994-2023.

Formed by Orson Bramley and Martin Brown in Bognor Regis in 1994, Transparent Sound have managed to create 30 years' worth of some of the best electro from the British Isles, despite claiming to not know what they were doing nor how their instruments work. 

It's likely that it's this lack of knowledge that led to the quality and longevity of their output - the pair experiment and tinker with the machines until something pleasing appears then follow that sound down whatever path seems fruitful: "the confidence of ignorance" as a slightly more-famous Orson, Orson Welles, once put it. 

This tactic has paid off well and found them stumbling into many notable adventures, from remixing The Cure to performing during an intermission between two halves of a lecture - none of which they understood as it was in Spanish.

The compilation collects a lucky-for-you 13 of their most glorious electrical accidents on a three-disc set including the dancefloor hits Punk Mother Fucker (a mainstay of Villalobos sets at the time of release), and No Call From New York (as heard on Helena Hauff's perfect 2017 Essential Mix).

The package also comes with 'Windows To Your Sole' from the unreleased white label Transparent Sound 007, other unreleased tracks, and special 2023 edits as well as six digital bonus tracks.

After the success of Cosmoba’s debut release ‘Lost In The System’, label owner Kalcagni returns with another 4 tracker of vibey electro and breaks.

Kicking off with ‘Mute Mode’, which channels deep house and acid melodics, laced over chunky breaks and a warm analog bass. ‘Up Here (In The Head)’ follows up with another 303 workout, layered with infectious bass hooks and effected synth trills.

On the flip side, ’System Addict’ ups the BPM’s and flexes a more upfront electro groove, with beefy drums, gnarly stabs and a twisted, resonant bassline. Whilst ‘Worn Out Version’ provides a more mellow and alternative vibe to close out the EP, with squelchy modular synth riffs and lush minor chords.

Today's premiere showcases a debut release from Dublin-based DJ, producer and promoter Matthew Sorensen. At just 18 years of age, Matthew has provided sensational insight into his knowledge and passion as an upcoming music producer with a compelling track steeped deep in 90s old-school roots, furthermore, he has also been so kind to set this track as a free download.

Matthew Sorensen is a Dublin-based promoter, DJ, producer and promoter who favours thrilling dance music. This includes but is not limited to slamming techno as well as old-school rave tunes which have shaped the young artists' taste from a very early age.

This has led him to perform at multiple venues across the city such as Index, Bow Lane Social Club and The Grand Social for parties such as Slither and Somewhere Else respectively. Not only is this an essential part of Matthew's library when mixing but this is also evident in his bookings as Counter Culture’s main man in charge. This style can even be heard in his remarkably consistent productions, with more releases to follow.

Take Me Up acts as a memory of the 90s rave scene in Dublin. This particular track is a classic example of the genre, fusing the old with the new as a driving bassline is introduced from the get-go. Setting the tone from the very first note. Fierce low-end is met with crisp hi-hats and snares ultimately creating a frenetic energy that's truly infectious from the first listen.
