22 years of the label, 2nd month of the year and 2nd release for Elektrotechnik on A-TRACTION records !

The mysterious German producer persists and signs, after the success of his Innovation EP, elektrotechnik comes back with a double "Scenario" close to a news that could be a series.
The first one, with its anxiogenic melodies, plunges us directly into the atmosphere of the EP, while "Scenario 2", darker and more hypnotic, brings us closer to a vision of horror. The otherworldly vocals and the sharp rhythms of Problems make us slip into the infatuation of Kapitulation.

Les deux compères Subsism et Lost In Material se réunissent enfin et pour la première fois autour d’un set bien spicy à la croisée de leurs deux univers. Tout deux Djs et producteur emprunt d’une identité respective très marquée, ils partagent à travers ce set une sélection qui oscille entre electro, trance et breakbeat.


LOST IN MATERIAL
Membre de l’écurie Rafale Records, le producteur et DJ lyonnais Lost In Material concentre ses influences pour proposer une expérience dancefloor énergique mêlant e.l.e.c.t.r.o-break, IDM et techno. Ses sélections acérés et évolutives dévoilent une musique machinale aux sonorités cold et kraftwerkiennes qui tient définitivement en haleine.

SUBSISM
Subsism est le co-fondateur d'ATOM, collectif pour lequel il s'est toujours impliqué avec ferveur. Ce jeune artiste aux playlists bien affutés est un habitué des dancefloors.
Raver invétéré, il s'amuse à mélanger trance, breakbeat et techno, en attrapant ce qu’il aime dans chacun de ces styles, pour en proposer un mélange unique.
Il adore les tracks à l’ancienne, et enflamme souvent le dancefloor avec des sonorités oldschool qu’il ramène au goût du jour.
Si vous cherchez quelqu’un pour enflammer tout un club en deux tracks, c’est lui qu’il vous faut.

"I simply like something that could be likened to the essence or mythology of a genre, which ironically goes against my broader beliefs, because essentialism is something I abhor, but in music as a discipline, it's perhaps innocuous."

Vampire Castle EP by now Prague-based musician Andrej Kabal explores and subverts the framework of a particular genre, its boundaries whether elastic or sturdy. Being constrained by stylistic tropes can be surprisingly liberating, and perhaps ephemeral too, a mirage. The tracks resulted from spontaneous sessions: from experimenting with text-to-speech to strumming on a guitar. Deeply personal, the EP reflects a specific period of his life.

"These tracks came to life in my room while I was living in Petržalka (a concrete-block district in Bratislava), where I could amazingly listen to music until 4am undisturbed, so I was able to delve into production. I can relive this vibe when I listen to the tracks again. The dimly lit room, me smoking at 5am on the balcony, observing the sleepy Petržalka council estate unrolling in front of my eyes."

The mood of the EP is opaque and mellow, like that fleeting time of the day, where dusk is transposed into dawn; slightly menacing (like a John Carpenter soundtrack, one of Kabal's perhaps more obvious inspirations on this release), with spots of light seeping through.
The title "Vampire Castle" was inspired by Mark Fisher's concept and uses samples from his work. “Individualise and privatise everything”, “essentialise”: we are all doomed indeed, but as Fisher wrote “Outside the Vampires’ Castle, anything is possible.”
