Lobo has LIFE.... 

When I left AfrikaBurn last year I knew I wanted to play on that Spirit. I was not sure how I was going to do it but the intention was strong and if you are going to learn anything about The Burn, it is that intention is the key to achieving in that magical space. I asked to play and Michael Kennedy said yes! I still reel from that when I write this and I will be forever grateful and in awe for the opportunity given.

As Lobo announced his arrival at Hauptbahnhof Station the atmosphere was electric. People walking in from all directions, the expectation was huge! All I wanted to do was get it going but I was forced to wait and in turn to soak it all in as the crew were plugging in to the sound system at the station. We were going to be playing off a full surround sound setup that was almost certainly going to blow your heart clean into the stratosphere. Eventually what seemed like an eternity my gear was plugged in and I sit here still in disbelief as to if it really happened. 

One of the best experiences of my life. Truly a dream come true to feel the movement of everyone on that perfect Wednesday night.  saw on the desert dance tears, laughter and love.

There is something about the Tankwa that changes the music in some way or form I cannot describe. It sounds better, it feels more, it becomes magic. Is it because we are in place that predates the dinosaurs? This is an old place and whatever it is, it changes what we feel and how sound travels. Fuller, richer, more beautiful... 

My expectations ended up being meaningless because I was living the unimaginable. 
I loved playing alongside that Spirit that is Lobo.

Oh that Friday... That day was pure magic... A full day of adventurous situations, from grooving with a jazz band, to the wedding of our Lebanese friends, to the most beautiful sunset oft he week, to the little house burn, to the loving atmosphere in our camp, to the big Clan burn and the sky filled with red stars, we directly headed to one of our highlight on Afrika Burn in the Arkology stage. It was literally the perfect day. What a day, what a crowd, what an energy, the rest is history... <3

Gravada em 1963, para seu primeiro álbum, Samba Esquema Novo a canção é o primeiro grande sucesso de Jorge Ben (seu nome artístico na época), "Mas Que Nada" também é uma das canções brasileiras mais conhecidas no exterior, particularmente nos Estados Unidos, quando foi gravada pelo pianista e compositor brasileiro Sérgio Mendes.   O sucesso da canção nos Estados Unidos viria após uma excursão de três meses naquele país, no qual Jorge Ben se apresentou em universidades e clubes, em 1965. No ano seguinte, Sérgio Mendes lançou uma versão da canção, em seu álbum Herb Alpert Presents Sérgio Mendes & Brazil '66. Foi aí que se tornou grande sucesso nas paradas norte-americanas, alcançando a posição #4 na parada "Adult Contemporary" e #47 na parada "Pop Singles" - ambas da Billboard. A importância da versão de Sérgio Mendes é traduzida por inúmeras versões feitas por artistas como Ella Fitzgerald, Al Jarreau, Trini Lopez e José Feliciano.

After the silent burn of the Giant Temple, I was playing this special set at Cobracabana. The week was started, it was the beginning of the night and we needed to put the energy high !
Well we went trough a journey with our family "Bubbles and Bass" and all what happened seemed unreal. We took off for a special night on this Cobra Spaceship !
Thanks so much everyone for joining and for the crazy energy that night !
Huge thank to Vincent for the insane mapping on the Cobra when I was playing and for even putting it on fire as I asked ! You killed it <3
