“Who Owns the Stars?” is a six-minute track that builds slowly and atmospherically, with layers of electronic soundscapes and ethereal vocals. The lyrics explore the vastness of the universe and the question of who has the right to own it.

“I wanted to write a song that would capture the beauty and mystery of the universe,” said Lee Martin. “We also wanted to explore the idea of ownership and who has the right to claim something as vast and infinite as the stars.”

“Who Owns the Stars?” is the first single from Sonoplasm’s upcoming album, which is due out in late 2023 or early 2024. The album is a collection of experimental electronic music that explores themes of space, time, and the nature of reality.

“I’m really excited to release our first single and share our music with the world,” said Lee Martin. “We hope that people will connect with the song and find it thought-provoking and inspiring.”

Who Owns The Stars?

As the name implies, this one is dark. The graphics in the video are too cool, and Susan Hanft really outdid herself using TouchDesigner. The sonic style is more modular synth, but it was all done using the VCV virtual rack. The piece is really closer to sound design than a traditional composition.
