In the beginning...
Before clocks ticked,
The Universe was born
Not just any 'verse' 
The Universe
Genesis, genesis, genesis
The heavens spun, like vinyl,
The creator dropped the needle
And so the beat began!
The Earth?
A blank canvas.
No shape, no form.
Just a deep, dark nothing.
where the Spirit moved.
Like wind over water,
Like thought over silence.
Then came a voice.
'Let there be light'. 
And light showed up,
God called it “Good.”
Genesis, genesis, genesis
Like a jazzy jazz riff 
Day and Night.
Played a duo
Then the firmament
Then dry land,
Like a bass line rising from the deep.
Earth. Seas.
Then the green
grass, herbs and trees.
Lights appeared.
Sun for the day,
Moon for the night,
and stars to dazzle
Spinning in the firmament.
And then – Life.
Creatures on land and sea
Birds in the air,
The rhythm of existence
Found its groove.
