Coin Operated Boy is the solo project of London-based producer and performer Ed Trotter. 

First emerging in 2006 from the UK indie-electro scene, Coin Operated Boy quickly gained attention for its bold blend of infectious melody and punk-leaning experimentation, earning early support from Annie Mac amongst others. After a decade-long hiatus, the project returns, channelling the same potent energy.

Ed’s remix work spans artists including Jaymo & Andy George, Caspa, Heaven 17, Santero, Lee Mortimer, Sir Nenis and Delooze, showcasing a distinctive ability to reinterpret material with clarity and character. In various incarnations, he has toured internationally, playing festivals and venues including All Points East, Rock The South, Camper Calling, the Moth Club, The Victoria and Ronnie Scott’s.

Alongside Coin Operated Boy, Ed has earned international recognition for his work with electro-disco outfit Zkeletonz and indie rock group Runrummer, further cementing his reputation as a versatile and inventive producer and performer.

From humble origins in Detroit, raised on a healthy diet of Motown, Jazz and early Hip Hop – Terrel Wallace (aka Tall Black Guy) has become a standard bearer for the current hip hop beats scene. Through a steady stream of productions filled with incredibly clever sample flips and deft production chops, he has won fans across the world, including Gilles Peterson (who included him on one of his Brownswood Bubblers albums), Lefto, Anthony Valadez, Jazzy Jeff, Questlove and countless others. With the tangible beginnings of worldwide recognition, Tall Black Guy has established himself to be one of the most influential producers working today.

2011-2020 has seen TBG's first vinyl releases with bstrd boots, First Word Records, Ubiquity Records and his own imprint Tall Black Guy Productions (TBGP).
