For its 6th release, Berlin-based Klangkuenstler returns to his Outworld imprint with the Weltschmerz EP – an ode to a world in turmoil, prophesying that there's light at the end of a pitch-black tunnel. For there's a fire of passion burning brightly within the depth of these two monstrous new tracks. Make no mistake, this is
brutal, floor-shaking techno, yet, despite the sheer force, Klangkuenstler captures the emotional essence of our Zeitgeist, shape-shifting moods between raging anger, deep-blue melancholia and glimpses of hope. The EP's title-track 'Weltschmerz' kicks off mercilessly at the light-speed-tempo Klangkuenstler has become
synonymous with. As a muscular kick thuds below slashing hats and rust-covered atmospherics, a venomous lead snakes through this airtight framework, unfolding into a moment of unadulterated ecstasy. 'Untergang', meanwhile, bursts of pure energy in tired times, thundering violently towards a bittersweet peak of warehouse-sized euphoria. To put it in a nutshell: Klangkuenstler rings in the end and we're going out with a bang. Though cooked-up for carnage, it's Klangkuenslter's intuition for existentialist contrasts that let the
Weltschmerz EP transcend its design purpose to grow into something altogether bigger – touching body, mind and soul alike.

The forest was his home, he'd found peace and tranquility in the open spaces between the trees and decided long ago that he would stay. This was his safe place, his secluded kingdom in which he did not need to think about the pressures of the wild world in the city. He would lose himself in the dense green growth, wandering for hours upon end in a psychedelic haze in which time became irrelevant and solitude was supreme. The rain fell softly upon this evergreen place as he danced between the tall trees and their leafy branches. 

nthng is set to release a new LP on a Lobster Theremin affiliated sub label called Lobster Sleep Sequence. The imprint is designed to showcase ambient music and this sprawling affair from nthng makes for quite a treat described as being "inspired by the last year of the artist's life, spanning visceral dreamscapes, vulnerable aesthetics and ambient techno rhythms."

It had been several hours since the plane left the ground, bound for a far flung destination that was yet to be decided. Every passenger who embarked this plane left the location up to chance, in the hope of discovering something new, somewhere untouched and unspoilt by human hands. Nobody came home disappointed, and some didn't come home at all.

Following releases for Moustache, Bordello a Parigi and Permanent Vacation, French producer Eliott Litrowski makes his way to Utrecht-based imprint SoHaSo's offshoot OOSHA. Across the three original tracks on his 'Long Story Short' EP, he ties together his love of Dutch electro, French techno and Italo Disco, backed up by a heavy electro remix on the flip from a pioneer of the sound, DMX Krew.

Our 200th release is a dual occasion. First a huge landmark for us and secondly the welcome return of Lee Hazard, a fav 2021 newcomer who creates sublime & transcendent modern electronica. "All It Takes" completes his triptych of releases on clipp.art and is a deep expedition into borderless dub techno, as reimagined via romantic lo-fi house banger. Swirling delays, a propulsive synth stab and Lee’s own haunting vocals, underpinned by a relentlessly driving groove give All It Takes its own cinematic sheen, which in a landscape fixated on minimising, reductive thought and constraint, music that projects large is an ever welcome addition in our house. It sounds better as you go deeper and louder. Which is why we felt it fit so well  here for our 200th. Lee’s lyric “It takes some time to love, but I'm loving you” also spoke to our humble little imprint of our own journey and hopefully that of our beautiful supporters - after all we are locked together like the two fish of Pisces, eternally swimming away from one another in an ongoing mesmerizing dance - like the needle and the groove. And we couldn’t be more proud of the work thus far and the immersive sonic tapestry contained in our discography - one that has introduced a galaxy of bright new stars along the way and perhaps cemented an aesthetic that will ever be connected to raw electronica & dance tunes in this moment. What started with exponential energy and barely containable weekly release schedule has admittingly slowed with age (more accurately gliding to a semi-halt in 2021 while we worked hard on our sister-label), but like most good things has gotten better with age. A bit sharper. A more complex taste. Fruity aromas. Or maybe we’ve just been staring too long at the half-finished bottle of vino sitting here while thinking of something creative to say. Either way, we’re far from half-finished (with the concept that is, not the wine), and as long as the groove is alive we know you’ll hear from us for many more moons. Always on the edge of something new. As we continue to develop the ever important VIBE! All it ever takes is some time.

Since its fruition in 2000, Trunkfunk Records has been a key component in Sweden's nightlife, providing its Nordic roots with an electronic music culture to call its own. Homegrown newcomer duo Subdued Kamel make their Trunkfunk debut, with their forthcoming Kristall Kamel EP. The second track, "Huspus Kamel", is our pick of the bunch – a polished cut of subterranean house embellished by sweeping pads, sampled live percussion and layers of synths bubbling underneath.

X CLUB. - By Far The Weakest Contender (Ballistic Missile Mix)

Jesse Futerman makes his Pacific Rhythm debut with a life-affirming slice of music lovingly crafted in Canada’s French quarter in the summer of 2019. On "Luckey," the Montreal producer reunites with his good friend Beverly Glenn-Copeland — a Canadian music legend whose keyboard-inflected outsider folk has been making waves across the world recently — and a cast of guest musicians for a song full of vibrant emotion and plush instrumentation, as Futerman works with an ensemble incorporating cello, saxophone, bass, and vintage hardware to great effect. 

There's a melancholy tinge to the swooning synths, but the infectious vocals and pitter-patter drums are uplifting and reassuring. "Luckey" is the kind of track that just radiates contentment, joy and gratitude — Futerman himself says he teared up laying down Justin Wright's cello, which gives you an idea of the vibes contained herein. 

The release also comes with a beautiful reimagining from Peaking Lights, who puts a dubbed-out spin on the track, like '80s post-disco via '90s Afro-cosmic Ibiza tracks, rounding off an EP whose classic touch and classy arrangements will surely elevate any individual who is Luckey enough to cross paths with it.
