We welcome Stuart King for the next instalment of our DJ mix series.  Stuart has just released his first EP 'Aloe Vera / Bangaba' in three years on the label which shot into the Top #10 of Beatport's Organic House Charts + Top #20 of the Main House chart too.  He is a key resident at clubs like the world famous Warung in Brazil - where he continues to play every year, and summer residencies at Privilege and Space in Ibiza  as well as all over Europe and beyond. 

Having been DJing and producing for over 20 years starting out as Sunday Club releasing many cult dreamy, epic & progressive house records in the heady heights of 90’s dance; having a major impact on shaping and pushing the progressive trance sound forward.  He has also remixed the likes of Jean Michel Jarre, Way Out West, Sunscreem, Brothers In Rhythm and more recently, huge classics like D:Ream’s 90’s conquering club anthem ‘U R The Real Thing’ and Dirty Vegas ‘chart topping ‘Days Go By’.

Here is my set from last weeks incredible 'Inn On The Park 30th Reunion'.
While I was putting this together I started thinking that back in the day we actually had no idea what these tunes were. 
I'd hear them on cassette tape in a friends car or at an after-party and they would just fester in my head. After many days, weeks, months of badgering I might get a copy of that cassette. Then it would take months, if not years to actually work out the name of the tune. But I still wouldn't be able to play it because the vinyl was so rare. Then eventually I might find a copy. Then I would play it so much that I learned everything about it - how it starts on the off beat, how it drifts out of time on the break, how there is a scratch or dod burn just before the outro. I remember going to Inn On The Park and praying that Oddball, Mixmaster Gee or Warren would play YBU's 'Keep It Up' because that was the only place I ever heard it.
These days we just Shazam and drag it into a Spotify playlist but it wasn't always like that. This is what makes this music, and that time, so special to me.

With a grounding in the first days of the house movement in the UK, Lee has been playing, mixing and producing electronic dance music for over 25 years, first spinning vinyl in the illegal party scene on the island of Jersey. He moved to Swansea in the early nineties with residencies at Club Passion and the renowned Strictly Groovy, one of the first weekly house nights in Wales.
It was here in Martha's Vineyard he teamed up with Mike Truman and Chris Healings and after a few releases under other pseudonyms, the trio became the breakbeat house phenomenon Hybrid. Lee worked with the pair for over 8 years producing scores of remixes, writing on the bands first studio album Wide Angle and working with and mixing alongside the largest names of the dance music movement. 
Later collaborating with brother in law Matt Wilson as Bunker, he continued firmly anchored in the breaks infused house genre. (Peace and love, Matt, you went too soon - we miss you so much)
