Perhaps, both states of waking and dreaming are less a fixed entity and more a dance, a continuous interplay between the internal and the external. The world we perceive is not a passive mirror, but a dynamic tapestry woven by our senses, our memories, and our expectations.

The next time you awaken, remember the dream. Remember the question that lingers…
Are we awake, or are we merely dreaming? Perhaps the answer lies not in finding the definitive line, but in embracing the dance itself, the beautiful, intricate waltz between the subjective and the objective, the dreamer and the dream.

“The Fool” is part 1 of 22 in an ambitious project in which I want to channel the energy of each one of the major arcana of the tarot, through sonic manifestations surrounded by mysticism, and occult knowledge.

Between some readings, and reviewing musical works from the 60’s until now, I began to notice that much of the efforts to represent the ancestral, the spiritual, and the mystical have been more inclined towards an exclusively organic expression. But on the other hand, what has been explored in the synthesis area has been countercultural currents such as industrial, harsh noise and soundscaping...
In other words, all I have had the opportunity to hear has been like “If_you_hear_this_you_will_commune_with_the_cosmos.FLAC”, or “Look_at_me_I_am_a_rebel_so_I_see_The_Truth.mp3”.

With this in mind, the twist I wanted to give to the discourse was to present a completely electronic project, combining rhythms and musical styles, from the most barroque to the modern and contemporary. Using all the knowledge and references that I have cultivated throughout these years.

It is a little weird for me to talk about all this, because I have never really been a spiritual person, and my approaches to the occult have always been through skepticism. Don’t get me wrong, I’m fascinated by the whole thing, but I think I’ve always been more about understanding the mechanisms that work in the universe than relating to the machine itself.

What I have noticed is that there are times when one can only embrace contradiction and integrate the absurd. And it is curious that I say this, because that is precisely what the energy of The Fool is about.

This set was supposed to be just deep house, but I got carried away and ended up playing something pretty varied, haha.
Thanks to Laundre Narsú & Los Universos Sonoros for offering to make the video with a pretty tight deadline. We didn’t have much space to record the whole set on camera, so we went with separate shots and editing.
