Epìtome is a project born in 2008 from the union between Domenico Graziano and Andrea Bo. Their encounter led the pair to dedicate themselves to the production and the search of sounds different from the ordinary. The almost compulsive need for experimentation, broken rhythms, falls of low frequency synths and a strong inclination for melodica are the main ingredients that brought to life the first effort of the duo: Thirteenth Flat.

The duo are resident at the Bratski Krug dubstep nights in Turin where they’ve shared the decks with name such as: Pinch, J:Kenzo, Matt-U, Dj Madd, Distance. Epitome have released a new single this year: ‘Sublife’ including a Dj Madd remix. It got hype reviews on Mixmag UK as “Dubstep you can dance to”.

Last but not the least Domenico and Andrea, alongside Ezra, are the guys behind No.Mad Records.

REGGAE ROAST BIOGRAPHY

Reggae Roast is one of the most vibrant, new reggae collectives in the UK and since 2007 they have been spreading their sound of conscious roots music across the globe. During this time they have contributed to some of the country’s greatest musical movements, including; Glastonbury, Fabric, Bestival, The Barbican, Jazz Café, The Big Chill, Camden Crawl and Outlook Festival, while building a reputation as the freshest roots sound in town.

Following on from their guest show broadcast with David Rodigan on Kiss fm and with regular DJ bookings across Europe, founders Exel and Moodie now enjoy a bi-monthly residency event at The City Arts &amp; Music Project Basement. Their ever popular basement session continues to promote the strength of real roots music and provides for the massive demand for a conscious and good natured club night. Previous guests include; Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Sly &amp; Robbie, Finley Quaye, Mad Professor, Aba Shanti-I, Channel One Sound System, Iration Steppas and Adrian Sherwood to name a few.

Reggae Roast Records was founded in 2009, and has developed a formidable sound with global recognition. The roster includes artists such as; Earl 16, Ghetto Priest &amp; Kenny Knots, as well as remixes from the like of Rob Smith (RSD), RackNRuin, Mungo’s Hi Fi, Richie Phoe and Dark Arx.

With a constantly expanding catalogue of CDs, 7” &amp; 12” vinyl, reggae roast’s records are selling as far and wide as the Pacific Islands, while achieving indisputable support from David Rodigan (Kiss100Fm), Don Letts (Radio 6Music) &amp; Rinse FM. This summer holds another two highly anticipated EP releases, as well as the compilation CD LP ‘Lick It Back!’, a roundup of the biggest RR releases, alongside choice picks from the likes of Dubmatix, YT, Rod Taylor and many more.

Thirty five years ago, Lee Thompson introduced an entire generation to Ska music when Madness exploded from nowhere. Now, along with founder-member Mark Bedford, the two are moonlighting to introduce those authentic Ska and Reggae rhythms that burst out of Jamaica in the mid to late 1960’s to a whole new audience. Recorded at The Ironworks Studio in Brighton and co-produced by Mike Pelanconi aka Prince Fatty (A Tribe Called Quest, Kula Shaker, Graham Coxon), the finished record is a tribute to the long-lasting legacy of the music that inspired them as teenagers. Mike Pelanconi’s production perfectly re-creates the live Caribbean vibe on tracks inspired by the likes of Desmond Dekker and John Holt, alongside impressive versions of King Curtis’ Soul Serenade and Lalo Schifrin’s Mission Impossible theme. The album also benefits from the guidance of Dave Robinson, co-founder of Stiff Records (Madness, Elvis Costello, Ian Dury) and a man with a cast-iron connection to Lee Thompson and Madness. The lead single from the album is a clever and fitting cover of Dekker’s mighty, mystical Fu Man Chu, which is given a vocal transfusion from reggae hitmaker Bitty Mclean.
