Acid Ponch (Yalla Soundsystem) - Etoile Du Sahel mixtape for DARK is the new DISCO.

In the nineties I travelled to Sousse with my mom where we met the El Habichi family who invited us to their house for dinner. One day later we joined them to the hamam. 

It was the first time I witnessed such a warm hospitality from people we didn't even know. The football star Bouazizi Riad came to the house with his motorcycle and gave me a signed poster, I was a big fan of his team Etoile Du Sahel ever since. A few days later we skipped our hotel to go on an epic roadtrip across the country going to places like Tozeur and Douz.

The bro's at DARK is the new DISCO asked me to compose a mix that touches upon their sound of dark electro and new wave... Featuring music from 1982 up to 2023.

I started out as a dj back in 2003 playing digital dancehall, dub and roots reggae so this mix features tunes that I've been collecting for over 20 years. 

Starting off with recent dub experiments to early foundation music, dubby jazz, amazing Raï dub tune I discovered in Tunis thanks to Pull Up Dali and ending with early 90's digital dancehall.

Acid Ponch (Yalla Soundsystem) - Dub set for Radio Flouka

Acid Ponch is a dj, producer, label owner and co-founder of Yalla.worldwide from Belgium. He grew up in the Ghent underground scene where he started the Peer Pressure collective.
He joined Caoutchou Records as an A&R, getting support from artists as Aphex Twin, and recently started a new platform longside Bader Shashit called Yalla.worldwide. 
Known for his eclectic style, Acid Ponch's sets span a wide spectrum, encompassing Bass, Jungle, Acid, Electronica, Footwork, Dub, Hip Hop and everything in between. 
As part of dj collective Yalla Soundsystem he holds a residency at Chinastraat and presents a monthly radio show on French/Tunesian station Radio Flouka and Radio Kiosk.
