We are writing the year 3021. The very first gene-manipulated virus-free post-covidians made it to carry their infra speakers back onto earths surface to play sublows for the concrete jungles, or whats left of them at least. They brought their ancient rituals and lullabies from their dungeons: sounding like a dark future of Dub without nice and happy skanking where only ruff and rugged dirty bone structures have remained the centuries below the planet's crust.
The tribe's chief a.k.a. The Duke Of Dub hands down two bare riddims with a jukey groove, highly detailed breakbeat layers and anything closely dubby only greeting from a very far mountain of suffaration:
Everyting Gwan In opens like an easy halftime beat, but sucks the listeners into its roughness quite fast, allowing no breath or sun inside between all them sinister soundscapes and speech scraps.
Fight Dub appears to be fried in the same pan at first, but got a slightly more stepping bass, lifting the classic breaks and vocal bits up into a merciless footwerk climax towards the end. Jah man!

Coming through with an almighty switch up from our usual UKG bits this week is the people’s favourite and master of all styles @etches828 📝 💜

Etch has provided an early 2000’s vinyl drum & bass mix that is so fuckin nostalgic, it took us on an emotional journey through young adolescent memories. Much like Etch, we all grew up on dnb and will always adore these sounds. The SOLITUDE crew are all junglists at heart yanno. This era of dnb up until about 2012 was the limewire sourced, background music to nuff gaming sessions with some sorta energy drink in hand… If that sounds familiar this one is for you. If not, check it anyway cos this selection and this calibre of artists is proper historical. 

Etch provided us with an insight to this one: “This mix is essentially my soundtrack to playing counter-strike online in 2004 with my mates, which may seem alarming because the tracks are fucking dirty slammers, but this along with 
everything that matched it’s intensity is what we banged. 

By the time we got fake ID’s and were out raving things got a bit more slick & romantic, but I always have hours of time for bash yer head in DnB and some borderline Breakcore like this.

I think with the UK music scene’s fetishization of everything that makes it feel like it has its own identity – it needs to look left and right and realise this was here the whole time. (Apologies to any clicks n pops from knackered/poorly looked after records, also I shall not take the whole blame, this era of DnB had some TERRIBLE presses, like wtf, shit is like a circle of paper)”

end of this year. Which in his words “will be glorious because I played some of my funnest shows of the decade in that dusty ol’ love island”

From hefty chuggy techno, mutant dancehall, and electric high energy beats - this one journeys through many of the sounds that Elpac is working with in his sets and in his production.

The Nebula EP sees the first collaboration between upcoming Glaswegian producers RUDA and Rapture 4D for a gleaming-but-gritty 4 piece instrumental EP.
Yoker born grime prodigy, Rapture 4D has been catching people’s attention since he graduated from the Red Bull Academy working with the likes of Sir Spyro, Plastician, P Money and Stormin while RUDA is an active member of the Glasgow underground bass scene and a LVLZ radio resident.
For its 20th release, Scrub a Dub touch down on grime territories, oscillating between square waves and space echoes. This new 12” pushes the boundaries of dub as we know it while remaining deep and heavy - a pure slice of Glaswegian dubstep.

Acid Ponch is a dj, producer, label owner and co-founder of Yalla.worldwide from Belgium. He grew up in the Ghent underground scene where he started the Peer Pressure collective.
He joined Caoutchou Records as an A&R, getting support from artists as Aphex Twin, and recently started a new platform longside Bader Shashit called Yalla.worldwide. 
Known for his eclectic style, Acid Ponch's sets span a wide spectrum, encompassing Bass, Jungle, Acid, Electronica, Footwork, Dub, Hip Hop and everything in between. 
As part of dj collective Yalla Soundsystem he holds a residency at Chinastraat and presents a monthly radio show on French/Tunesian station Radio Flouka and Radio Kiosk.
