Leftroom Limited turn to long time associate Inxec and Mark Jenkyns for its next release, which is yet again a freaky bit of inventive late night tech with ghoulish charm and shadow intentions. The two originals come backed with typically excellent remixes from master of the night Konrad Black and Canadian Hrdvsion.

As an ever rising talent with an ability not yet fully blossomed, Inxec produces music from his beloved house right through to heart breaking, thought inspiring mood sections for national radio plays in Germany. Meanwhile, Mark Jenkyns’ natural understanding of the dancefloor coupled with his impulsive methods to spark it into action have enabled him to garner a reputation as both a forward thinking producer and immersive DJ releasing on labels like Hot Creations.

The first track the pair turn out is ‘Broken Wings’, a slinky bit of tech with rooted, hard hitting kicks and engaging percussive clicks. A filtered vocal speaks about phenomenal outrage and gurgling synths always bubble up through the mix. Then an acid line appears next to the pixelated chords and the track really takes off, as will the roof of the right club whenever this one gets deployed.

Two on point remixes then tackle the track: Konrad Black – of labels like Culprit, City Fox and M_nus – layers in plenty of bleepy, blurting synth sounds as he threads his minimal grooves through a freaky filter. Dark, weird and heady, it’s prime afterparty material.

Wagon Repair and Rinse associated Hrdvision is next with his sinewy, synthetic and hugely orchestrated remix. Acid lines, sharp synths, rueful pads and more all form a network of lines that drag you ever deeper into their core.

Inxec & Mark Jenkyns then team up again to round out the EP with ‘Ride It’, This one is another spangled bit of raw machine music with loose, spraying synths, thick basslines and alien life forms all scurrying around a hunched over groove that makes it perfect for dark and druggy backrooms.

Once again here Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom Limited label has come up with the goods.

Budding young artist Neil Parkes has been garnering lots of attention of late, following his collaborative EP alongside Adam Curtain on Metroline Limited picking up support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Hot Since 82 and Russ Yallop. Parkes has since gone on to unleash solo material via Mad Hatter White, Time Has Changed and Leftroom sub-label Left’d, and here we see Neil push on with some fresh material via the Leftroom Ltd imprint.

Kicking off proceedings is the original mix of title cut ‘Me & You’ from Neil Parkes, a tripped-out, melodious cut fuelled by bubbling synth melodies and crunchy digital drums. While a smooth low-end bass hook gradually unfolds over the tracks seven and a half minute duration, opening things up on a deep and hypnotic tip. Richy Ahmed’s take on ‘Me & You’ follows, seeing the Hot Creations artist reshape things with a more direct, dance floor focused feel, implementing stuttering vocal chops, chuggy bass tones and resonant synth licks.

Opening the latter half of the release is ‘Dixon’, which sees Parkes explore more stripped-back territories with shuffling percussion, ghostly synth lines and mind-bending brass textures. While closing cut ‘You Were’ tips things back to a more energetic feel with growling bass tones, spoken word vocals and evolving stab sequences.

The Extended Family Part 2’ is the next taster instalment from Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom compiled to whet appetites for the emerging talent that is currently nestling in the fringes of the label and ready to enter into the limelight.

First up are Bristol based Amos Nelson and Rich Beanland aka Waifs And Strays. They first pricked the ears of label boss Matt Tolfrey with their debut track ‘3 am’, which ended up featuring in DJ Mag’s essential releases and gaining support from the major players like Luciano and DJ T. Now presenting their long awaited follow-up record ‘Yeah Yeah’ after it initially caused waves at last years Detroit music conference, this house bomb is ready to make its full impact. already described as “The dirtiest house track I have heard in a very long time” by Radio 1’s Heidi, Waifs and Stray’s classic take on the house sound here features chunky grooves, swinging bounce and vocals that make you dance.

Leeds based Laura Jones is one of the North’s foremost rising stars. First unleashing her special brand of stylishly melodic house music with her debut ‘Intentions’ out on Leftroom Limited last year, it spent the summer moving dancefloors at the hands of DJ royalty Sasha, Lee Burridge and Seth Troxler and became a much loved part of DC10’s summer soundtrack. ‘Love In Me’ is the next bomb to drop and has been played religiously by Dan Ghenacia and Dyed Soundorom in recent months. With a definite nod to the past, this deep and funky gem is bathed in sunshine and destined once again to lift the spirits of revellers worldwide.

Hailing from the other side of the pond, Miami groove-maker, DJ and label owner Lazaro Casanova has been rocking the scene since gaining a residency at the infamous 7 year old Revolver party in Miami in 2004. He has since been busy honing his craft as a producer of raw, underground house music. ‘I Got The Feeling’ is a typically groove-led affair with a memorable vocal and playful percs but it’s when the bassline starts to flex its funk-laden stabs that the track
really reaches its zenith. Upon hearing it, Deniz Kurtel requested to remix the track and this will appear on his next full EP out in June.

Completing this diverse package of DJ weapons is Valencia born Julian Perez and ‘Butterfly Conflict’ – a moving techno piece that is fresh and absorbing in it’s pared down elegance. Hushed rhythmic voices and crisp drum patterns make up the rolling, hypnotic groove. Raresh and the Desolat crew have been tearing up the floor with it and have him down as one to watch. Since the label’s first ever release ‘The Extended Family’ Leftroom has been a purveyor of hidden underground talent. ‘Part 2’ is equally as refreshing and a timely introduction to its four newest recruits.

Originally released as a highly sought after limited white label, Leftroom now releases the immutable ‘Cultural Variance’ EP from DJ Bone, comprising two original choice cuts from the Detroit producer.

Eric Dulan aka DJ Bone’s production career dates back to the end of the 90s when he unveiled a consistent string of 12’’ releases via his own Subject Detroit imprint as well as working with Juan Atkins’ Metroplex. Recent times have seen DJ Bone collaborate with Deetron, join the Hessle Audio crew at fabric London and make regular appearances at the infamous Freerotation festival, here we see Dulan push on joining the Leftroom Records roster with a fresh two-track EP.

Kicking things off is title track ‘Cultural Variance’, a ten-minute progressively blooming composition led by direct 4/4 rhythms and meandering arepggio’s infused with a high energy, up-tempo feel creating a typically classy piece of work from DJ Bone. On the flip we have ‘Faze’ and this time Dulan takes on an understated dubbed-out approach laid out over its near eight-minute duration with a smooth, gradually unfolding feel.

The Leftroom project started by Matt Tolfrey now has three imprints going strong, and with this package they make their boldest statement yet. Fusing retro leanings with today’s dynamics without losing sight of its key values, this is a taster from the 5 Years Of Leftroom compilation that lines up the label for the next five years of forward thinking dance floor mischief.

The retrospective compilation features 20 standout tracks that have worked floors worldwide and includes 4 that are completely exclusive to this release. INxec and Matt Tolfrey turn in one of the hypnotic builders that have made them such a formidable partnership. This is a track to rally the floor behind it and captivate them as it unfolds. Looping tightly, ‘In Excess’ welcomes in sweeping melodies with clinical fills and sets them off with precise percussion. Subtly building and announcing layer upon layer with another flourish; this is a real burner for attentive audiences.

Waifs and Strays return with their warbled vocals and strutting rhythms for another crack at the peak time. Bringing an infinitely elastic bass line to the fore and letting the forementioned vocals unfold, ‘Heartbreak’ has an immediacy that will give it considerable mileage. Think 80s synth pop swapping notes with the funky drummer at The Marcy Hotel and you are close. ‘Military Buzz’ is a light and bouncy number with jazzy chords that illuminate tight rhythms. Signal Flow is the collaborative guise of PillowTalk’s Michel Tello & Ray Zuniga, two California born now Brooklyn, NY based producers and DJ’s most notably know for their Touch Of Class Records imprint. Since the inception of the alias the pair have released material for the likes of Culprit, My Favorite Robot, Wolf + Lamb, and now Leftroom here where they offer up a fresh single entitled ‘All Alone feat. Kevin Knapp’.

The original mix kicks things off and sees the outfit fuse jazzy electric piano licks, smooth pad lines and snaking sub bass grooves with Kevin Knapp’s signature emotive vocal styling’s. Miguel Campbell steps up next to rework ‘All Alone’, instilling his modern take on disco to things with funk-infused guitar licks, loose rhythms and retro resonant synth licks.

Rounding off the package is Hotflush artist Locked Groove’s ‘Cinematic Treatment’ of ‘All Alone’ and as the title would suggest the Belgian artist remould’s the original number into a detailed, subtly unfolding and intriguing composition with bubbling acid grooves, elongated pads and bass tones and emotive string lines.

year, prompting Matt Tolfrey to call upon three of the hottest players in the game to
remix this dance floor stormer for the next release on the unstoppable Leftroom
imprint. Remixers include man of the moment Maceo Plex, golden girl of Chicago
Kate Simko and Bristol’s finest fresh talent Eats Everything.

The monumental ‘Love In Me’ was first released on Leftroom in May on ‘The Extended
Family Part 2’. An exhilarating ride of deep but seriously melodic uplifting house, this
summer anthem achieved prolific support championed by the biggest names in the
business including Seth Troxler, Dan Ghenacia and Dyed Soundorom and soon
became one of the standout tracks that graced all dancefloors from the Miami
WMC to the terrace of the notorious DC10. Propelling Laura Jones further into
stardom, the track made it to No. 1 in Beatport deep house chart and secured her
place as one of the leading ladies in the underground dance scene. A treasured
member of the Leftroom family, Laura has been given the creative reigns for this
special release, directing the artwork and vinyl colour.

Each of the remixers on board are well known for their own unique and individual

managing his new record label Ellum Audio, releasing a string of smash hits, and
relentless touring schedule, Maceo Plex steps up first. Imprinting his signature sound,

Top female force from Chicago, Kate Simko puts a sensual yet driving spin on it with

Hailing from the heart of the burgeoning Bristol camp, Eats Everything makes his mark
on ‘Love In Me’ with a raw bouncy percussion, Chicago vibe and garage bass line.
Having secured his place as a firm favourite in the Radio 1 headquarters and fast
becoming a name on everyone’s lips, its no surprise that Matt Tolfrey called upon this
rising star to round off this massive release.

Matt Tolfreyʼs Leftroom continues its run of form with ʻFreeze Trackʼ from Sam Russo, a four track EP featuring a rare remix from Jay Hazeʼs Fuckpony project.

While Leftroom ended 2011 with the Beatport No.1 Maceo Plex remix of Laura Jones, rounding off an impressive run of releases that caught the ear of just about every DJ ʻnameʼ there is, Sam Russo has been no slouch either. 

Cementing his reputation as an accomplished and open-minded DJ, Russo warmed up at Londonʼs Fabric more than any other non-resident in 2011 as well as playing his brand of house across Europe. As a producer, he continues to build on previous output for FullBarr, Fear of Flying and Leftroom with ease and his forthcoming imprint and collaborations with Craig Richards will undoubtedly create a stir.

Half broken beat and half house, ʻFreeze Trackʼ sees Russo play with the blending of sounds in the same way as his DJing allows. Using a staccato bass and rock solid drums with just a handful of other sounds to create a moody but infectious groove, the London-based producer turns in a track that displays his deft ability to deliver contrasting rhythms and vibes with ease.

The eerie, skipping groove of ʻCold Handsʼ follows with an uncluttered, warm yet disparate combination of leads that provide plenty of textures and tones to draw the listener in.

ʻBus Fourʼ closes the EP in original and Fuckpony Remix for form. Russoʼs original, a titular insight into his love of production technology, is perhaps the most straightforward house cut from him on ʻFreeze Trackʼ EP but is no less engaging. Drawing on his love of deep house and garage, itʼs a smooth ride into robust grooves, dubbed vocals and shimmering chords.

Jay Haze, friend of Leftroom, philanthropist and DJ/Producer, dons his Fuckpony cap and twists ʻBus Fourʼ into a dense, fluid house track complete with a brilliantly executed tempo hike in the intro that will no doubt be used to full effect by the more creative DJs out there.

Leftroom has, sensibly, got big plans for Sam Russo in 2012 but for now the ʻFreeze Trackʼ release is a fitting aperitif.

Gavin Herlihy follows up brilliantly received releases for Culprit and Crosstown Rebels with the ʻGet Looseʼ EP for Leftroom this March – a four-track release featuring No Regular Play on remix duties.

Since leaving his employment as a respected music journalist, Herlihy has ploughed unnerving amounts of effort into his production career and combined with an undoubted natural talent when it comes to musical perversion, the results have been superb. Cadenza, Cocoon, Crosstown Rebels and Moodmusic are just some of the labels that have bought into the Irishmanʼs distinct sound and the steady stream of quality isnʼt about to let up.

One of the hallmarks of Gavin Herlihyʼs productions is a deft touch when it comes to updating classic tropes and itʼs a skill that is hugely apparent across the ʻGet Looseʼ EP. The title track draws on many elements of the early ʻ90ʼs rave and updates them beautifully - making nagging vocal hits, moody synths and a bulbous, walking bassine sound as fresh and exciting as they did way back.

No Regular Playʼs stripped, crisp version of ʻGet Looseʼ takes an electro view of the originalʼs elements and makes for a funk-laced creeper of a cut that brutally chops and changes moods to joyful effect.

ʻLooking for The Same Thingʼ and ʻCʼMon Peopleʼ continue the looking back to look forward theme of the EP. The former, taking pleasure in offsetting skipping drums and funk licks with the woozy warmth of eye-closing synths while the latter manages to fuse broken nu-jazz, Nu-Yorican house and Detroit melodies without skipping a beat.

Every track on the ʻGet Looseʼ EP proved to be a killer at the recent BPM festival, and for good reason.

Late-March sees Simon Baker return to the Leftroom label roster with the ʻOsaka Nightsʼ EP on

Leftroom Ltd – a three track EP featuring a further two remixes from Seattleʼs, Pezzner.

Simon Baker, after delivering a series of standout singles for his own imprint from 2005 to 2007, has steadily become one of the new school of house musicʼs leading lights. A debut LP and slew of singles for the 20:20 Vision label alongside the undoubted smash that was ʻPlastikʼ on Playhouse have made the Yorkshireman one of the most in demand producer/DJs out there.

Itʼs one of the destinations of touring that has resulted in the ʻOsaka Nightsʼ EP, Bakerʼs first for close-friend Matt Tolfreyʼs imprint since 2008.

The title cut bursts open the ʻOsaka Nightsʼ EP with a piercing, phased vocal hit and a ponderous electronicfunk bassline. Moody and absorbing, the openerʼs drunken drum fills and metallic synths combine with the beats/bass undercurrent in perfect balance.

Pezzner steps up for the first of two remixes of ʻOsaka Nightsʼ and in ʻremixʼ mode delivers a glowing

interpretation littered with otherworldly synth flourishes and leads which layer into a warm yet intense texture.

Bakerʼs ʻPick Em Upʼ uses skittering, busy percussion and guttural bottom end to underpin a brutally effected titular vocal hit and bubbling synths that makes for a muscular groove. The addition of flowing FM sounds and an airy, almost human, modulated pad push the tune into overdrive.

ʻHuman Mysteryʼ is the last of the original tracks and treads a decidedly old school, early 80ʼs path with squelching moog bass, broken beats and shimmering synths.

Pezznerʼs ʻNative Language Remixʼ of ʻOsaka Nightsʼ closes the EP with an introspective, stripped feel. The originals vocals flow over a skeletal drumtrack and an unhurried melody before building towards a teasing climax that subsides almost instantly.

Hot on the heels of her collaborative EP with Matt Tolfrey, ʻThe Same Pageʼ EP, Kate Simko makes her full solo debut on Londonʼs Leftroom imprint alongside the vocal talents of Jem Cooke and the remix might of John Tejada.

Chicagoʼs Kate Simko has hit her stride as a producer and DJ since her auspicious beginnings as part of Matthew Dearʼs Spectral Sound roster. Remixing Philip Glass, composing film scores, collaborating with Tevo Howard as Polyrhythmic, and increasingly on the radar of the world's top clubs via on-point DJ and Live/AV sets, Simkoʼs talents have been closely followed by Leftroom boss, Matt Tolfrey.  Tolfrey first invited Kate on board last fall with her remix of Laura Jones' smash hit "Love In Me;" then, after hearing the raw, acid-house inspired 'Kabuki Drop', Tolfrey signed the EP on sight and it's not hard to see why.  

Simkoʼs love of Daniel Bell/DBXʼs incredibly focused and classic use of sound shines through on ʻKabuki Dropʼ, where an uncluttered rhythm track boldly drives a perfectly formed array of creeping bleeps, atmospherics and lush pads.
Kateʼs old friend, John Tejada - an artist who has developed an enviable reputation for squeezing soul out of machines - treats ʻKabuki Dropʼ to an oozing makeover. An inspired choice for the task in hand, the lauded producer delivers the sort of immersive eloquence that few achieve.
The second half of this diverse EP is balanced by ʻGo On Thenʼ, a full vocal cut and dub version featuring the sultry, jazz-inflected talents of London-based Jem Cooke paired with delicate Rhodes, lazy fills and hazy keys that underpin a powerful dubbed bassline.

With plans to relocate to London in July, Kate's 'Kabuki Drop' EP is a heartfelt offering to Leftroom from this soon-to-be Chicago transplant.

Leftroom Limited follows up a hearty contribution from Waifs & Strays with one of its biggest line ups yet
this October with Maceo Plex teaming up with Odd Parents and the ever-quality Mark E turning in two
remixes.

Much like Ellum Audio’s Maceo Plex, Odd Parents are US expats now residing in Spain and, having released on
Ellum earlier in 2012, have become part of the label’s family unit. This is the second Odd Parent’s collaboration
this year with the duo’s remix of D.Ablo & Eric Volta alongside Danny Daze creating enough of a buzz to tempt
Maceo Plex into the studio with the Philadelphia pair for ‘Get Enough’.

‘Get Enough’ comes on strong from the off, with an arpeggio bassline giving off a massive portion of elastic funk
while an arsenal of ‘floor focussed drops and audio trickery are employed to undeniable effect throughout.
Looped, chopped and stretched vocals all play their parts in adding to the hooky nature of what is yet another
dancefloor bomb for all parties involved.

No stranger to the concept of discoid electronics, Mark E cooks up two remixes of ‘Get Enough’ for Leftroom
Limited. The Ghostly artist and Merc honcho channels a hip-housed Chicago delight in his remix – all resonant
keys and glorious, emotive strings making for one of his most epic sounding works to date.

The Mark E Future Doom remix is an insistent, tightly looped affair that bursts out of the gates with high hats
blazing and fever-pitch builds which offset playful, deep melodies and blissed out vocal snippets. Old school
structuring with a distinctly modern palette of sounds, it’s another arresting interpretation from a producer who
knows how to balance and control aggression perfectly.

Dexter has long been an underground mainstay. He has released on labels like No Art and Gruuv and is never far from the higher end of the digital charts, such is the effectiveness of his music.

Give Me More opens up with a superbly stripped back and slippery minimal house groove that oozes late night charm. The warped synths, trippy fx and the muttered vocals make for pure nocturnal darkness. Heist is a punchy track with a supple house rhythm and more bendy synth lines and smeared pads making it another cosmic gem. The Pressure is another gorgeously deep, feathery light groove that suspends you in mid air as a world of tiny sound designs and distant details occupy your mind.

Remixing this one is Detroit mainstay, Visionquest founder, and always on point studio innovator Shaun Reeves. His version is laced up with slick boom-bap drums and filtered vocals. It's characterful minimal filled with silky rhythms that get deep into your psyche.
This is a typically excellent EP of forward looking sounds from Leftroom.

Leftroom Limited's next release finds esteemed musicians, producers and live performers No Regular Play make their debut on the label. The American duo of Nicholas DeBruyn and Greg Paulus serve up four fantastic new cuts that get remixed by countryman and dance legend, Doc Martin.

Over the last decade, No Regular Play have become synonymous with richly musical house grooves. Often laced with Paulus’s trumpet playing, the pair’s music goes way beyond the dance floor and has landed on Wolf + Lamb, No 19 Music and Crew Love, with two LPs showcasing a knack for disco, synth pop and deep house like few others.

First up here, Room Keeps Spinning is a dark and driving house cut with classic hits and a rubbery bassline powering it along. Pained vocals bring a late night, inebriated feeling and crafty synth work fleshes out the grooves with a late night tripiness. The brilliant Bare Witness is a totally different vibe, with bumping drums and spaced out pad work making for a sci-fi atmosphere. It’s a fresh, crisp dancing track that builds the pressure and twists and turns on robotic synths that sound like the future.

Sublevel boss Doc Martin has been at the heart of house music for decades. His timeless style, rare DJ skill and legendary series of residences have made him a real great. The first remix here is a tense, steel plated house cut with loose synths bringing a wild atmosphere and Lillia’s vocals adding a sense of soul, while the second is a more direct and stripped back version that will take you on a trip.

The final original is UR FINE, which again shows off another side to No Regular Play: it’s a freaky bit of house for the after party. Chattery claps and warped synths, weird vocals and spooning hi hats all add up to a brilliantly off-kilter cut that will blow minds.

Matt Tolfrey drops the second single from his ‘Word Of Mouth’ EP this May, via his Leftroom imprint, opting for the infectious groove of ‘Encarta’ and pulling in Marco Bernardi and DJ Sprinkles on remix duties.

Matt Tolfrey’s, Leftroom, imprint has gone from strength to strength over the past seven years, and his debut full length ‘Word Of Mouth’ earned critical acclaim amongst peers and press alike. Here Leftroom offers up another stellar addition to the catalogue, further showcasing Tolfrey’s undeniably on point A&R skills by pulling in sought after artists DJ Sprinkles and Marco Bernardi to present yet another refreshing release from the label.

The original version of ‘Encarta’ kicks things off here, its cosseting Rhodes melodies, whispering vocal licks, gritty shuffling snares and sheer elegance draw you in, and further display Tolfrey’s experience in the industry with its classic meets contemporary vibe.

Clone, Planet E and Futureboogie artist Marco Bernardi steps up first to rework ‘Encarta’, putting a slightly more driving spin on the original number with insistent arp lines, crunchy distorted drums and raw saw wave bass tones thrown into the mix. Bernardi displays his more than capable production skills through evolving melodies and subtle nuances, resulting in an up-tempo, tasteful interpretation. Last up to close the release is the forever on-point DJ Sprinkles, stamping his signature emotive, ethereal touches on the original. Sprinkles, as he often does, goes to full lengths with an eleven minute mix, meandering through an amalgamation of synth and drum variations with a genuine song structure, as expected it’s an intelligent, forward thinking rework.

To celebrate his 40th birthday, Matt Tolfrey returns on October 23rd with a second full length artist album, All Shapes And Different Sizes, on his own Leftroom label. Featuring artwork by Matthew Dear, the 11 track album is a complete artistic statement that comes infused with a whole lifetime's worth of club experiences. 

This most absorbing and floor facing album comes eight years after Tolfrey's debut, and finds the long time house and techno talent returning to his roots. It is characterised by a more minimal, hypnotic style that draws on his early years as an afterparty DJ and love of left of centre grooves. The production on this new album is brilliantly undercooked yet warm, with supple and seductive rhythms like ‘Late Night Business’ doing exactly what it says on the label, and the off kilter ‘Daddy Creepcakes’ layering up playfully freaky synths and kinetic house drums. Elsewhere, Tim Fuller, who recorded on DJ Ali’s Classic ‘You Don’t Know’, (one of Tolfrey’s all time favourite tracks) features on the slick and bumping ‘How It's Gonna Be’, while Lil Mark’s voice adds an intriguing element to the manic Detroit minimalism of ‘Under The Skin.' 

The excellent 'Fantasy' features revered vocalist Shaun J Wright, who lends his darkly seductive vocal musings to the track's bubbling, absorbing and tightly woven drums and bass.  Keeping up the innovative sounds, ‘Feel The Same’ is a high pressure track with spinning hats, filtered vocals and busted bass stab that sweeps you up and carries you along for a thrilling ride, while the last and most special guests are Tolfrey's daughter Beau May, who features on deep closing cut 'Jus' Get Down', and second daughter Arla Tait who arrived when the album was being finished and stars on the kinetic, Gemini-style house of 'London Road'.

This album very much puts Matt Tolfrey back in the critical spotlight, exactly where he belongs.

Matt Tolfrey - An Introduction

Leftroom Records opened its doors in August of 2005 in Nottingham, England. The label is the creation of Matt Tolfrey (Owner). Musically, it was one of the first labels of its kind in the UK, showcasing the off centre sound of house, disco and techno.

Distributed now by Above Board, the first release surfaced for the label on the 5th of December 2005 and was entitled ‘The Extended Family EP’ encapsulating the spirit of Leftroom, a place where a core set of artists could grow and experiment with their sound. The Leftroom family consists of a few key artists including Laura Jones, Huxley, Gavin Herlihy, Sam Russo and Matt himself.

April 2006 saw the launch of Leftroom's sublabel, Leftroom Limited. Musically Leftroom Limited brings a new dimension to Leftroom as a whole, concentrating on anything that wobbles from straight up house, to techno and even the uplifting. The first ep for the sublabel was Tolfrey & Sylvester presents: Popeye-Spinach Disko, a slow brewing, techy, disco record, which came out the end of May 06 with many plaudits. 

With Matt being label owner he proved his A&R capabilities are pin-point in securing one of 2007’s biggest tracks, Ito & Star’s ‘Suduko Kid’ and one of 2008’s biggest crossover tracks, Rocha and Lewinger’s ‘Down Seq’. The summer of 2011 brought you Laura Jones's 'Love In Me' which was a global phenomenon, and Maceo Plex's remix of the same track was Leftroom's first no 1 overall seller on Beatport. In 2012 Kate Simko's 'Go On Then' featuring Jem Cooke stole all headlines, and the same year brought you Matt's debut artist album 'Word Of Mouth.' 

With new albums and mix compilations not to far away, and a whole host of new releases, Leftroom is sure to carry on where it left off which is delivering high quality, diverse dance music.
