A light he was to no one but himself

A quiet light, and then not even that.
He consigned to the moon, such as she was,
So late-arising, to the broken moon
As better than the sun in any case
For such a charge, his snow upon the roof,
His icicles along the wall to keep;
And slept. The log that shifted with a jolt
Once in the stove, disturbed him and he shifted,
And eased his heavy breathing, but still slept.
One aged man—one man—can’t fill a house,
A farm, a countryside, or if he can,

Arma Records' 13th vinyl is released now, in anticipation to Outline Festival, major event in summer schedule of the label and its parent club Arma17.

The opening track of the forthcoming 'Et Focus' EP is written by Zots, one of the core artists of Arma, both the label and the club. The EP features remixes by Margaret Dygas and Petre Inspirescu. 

Quality dancefloor-oriented reworks by high-profile producers invariably recur to the original track with its polyphonic orchestral style and elusive, deceptive melody. It seems, every time the composition gains something, depending on what layer of it you are 'focused' on.

The record is now available at most online stores.

As part of our ongoing Aus Music Debut series, we’re thrilled to present “Decompression Suite” – a riveting piece from longstanding Aus Music comrade Harry Aguis (aka Midland). A name that needs little introduction, Midland is known for propelling varied, interesting sounds out into the electronic music field; and has helped fuel the V12 engine that is Aus Music with releases such as “What We Know” and “Reflex”.

Still revelling in last summer’s glory of “Blush“, Midland’s newest track serves as a medley of musical layers. Heavily textural, echoes of panning high-hat hits lay amidst quivering bass tones to provide the foundations of the piece, which is then uplifted by ethereal sweeping synths. The track reaches new heights with the injection of a gripping bass line. All develop and manifest into a truly immersive whole, which slowly evaporates as gradually and neatly as its initial growth.

With over two decades experience in the music industry, Jay Haze has pretty much seen it all and, earlier this year, it appeared as though his career had all but ended when he apparently quit the music scene closing his seminal labels, Contexterrior and Tuning Spork, in the process. However, due to a dramatic series of events that have occurred in his life recently he is now resurrecting the labels and returning to music with a renewed zeal and determination. Brimming with new ideas that combine his charity work with music and visual productions, Jay is a changed man and in the interview that follows, he discusses his new outlook on life, impending fatherhood and why he'd become disillusioned with the electronic music 'scene' in great depth with Marcus Barnes for MEOKO
