Drawing inspiration from bands like Arctic Monkeys, Violent Soho and Alt-J "Sweet" is a song written about a traveling as Danny Smith (vocals) explains “The song was written about trying to enjoy the simple pleasures of life while travelling, but having experiences coloured by depressing realities.”
 
Musically “Sweet” formed as a part of a very successful songwriting challenge as Jamie (drums) explains “Nick (lead guitar) wrote three songs in three days, two of which made it to the EP. “Sweet” soon became one the band’s favourites. Starting with a simple melancholy guitar riff, the song grew until we were happy with the structure. Then it was Danny’s lyrics that took the song from good to great. Starting was the imposing phrase, “Fly high when you leave”, Danny showed his ability to interpret Nick’s songwriting and add elements from left-field that leave the song with a distinctive 'Birdhouse' sound.”
