The monsters once were just like they, the cold, behold, with numbers for a name.
The light, it looms (an iron gun) so tantalising (but it’s yet to come).

Paycheck (When the Fun Stops, Stop) [radio Edit]

HYPE MACHINE is the fourth and final single dropped from YVA's upcoming debut EP by the same name. It is a prayer, a satirical sacrifice to the new gods of social media.

YVA cites Radiohead, IRAH, Massive Attack and early Fever Ray as her main inspirations for HYPE MACHINE, drawing from her love of drama and soundtracks to form an EP that is unrelenting in its approach of truth and meaning in a life that's gone fully virtual.

'We Are The Noise' is the new single from British band The Dowling Poole.

The song is absolutely FREE, no strings attached! 

When you’ve downloaded it, we urge you to copy it and send it to absolutely anyone and everyone you know. And please send it to all of our American friends who have a hugely important job to do this week. The world is depending on you. 

The song was recorded in multiple locations during lockdown and features long-time collaborator and Sugar Plum Fairies/Jackdaw 4/The Dowling Poole band member, Andy Lewis playing bass. 

Guest drummer on ‘We Are The Noise’ is the extraordinary Darby Todd, who has played with countless artists including Kee Marcello, Gary Moore and The Darkness - and some of you may remember Darby from his days playing with Willie and Andy in Sugar Plum Fairies. 

"'We Are The Noise' is a comment on the hysteria that surrounds and consumes us all via social media, and the seemingly endless sensationalist news", says Willie Dowling. 

"The song draws attention to the paradoxical nature of many of us commenting on ‘the noise’ and thereby becoming a part of it. Everybody’s broadcasting but nobody’s listening. And of course to add further irony, this song is making it’s own particular contribution to ‘the noise’. Anyway, it was really great to play with Darby and Andy again after so many years, albeit remotely.”
