It's not the fall that hurts, it's when you hit the ground – that’s what „Failing Upwards“ is all about. On Lehult’s fourteenth release Lucky Charms breaks away from 4-to-the-floor territory to deliver a fun trip through skippy drum workouts and jazzy warmth.

Spread out across the full A-Side is "Einbahnstraßen-Sound". Heard first on the Lehult Worldwide FM Special last year, this highly requested tune finally sees the light of day in all its trippy, warm, analogue glory.

"Oase" takes things a notch deeper by layering lush synths, swarming melodies and ski field recordings over a laid back electro-groove.

"Rex Dubius" translates the vibe of the first two tracks into a more straightforward, dubby groove - not without the skipping beats and the warm counterparts, though.

His live sets are the stuff of mythical tales and his release schedule would be best described as mischievous, being involved in many projects under diverse monikers. During the uprising in 2000, aided by the League of Humanity, two of Dr: Gall’s advanced prototypes escape the Rossum Universal Robot factory and flee Earth on a decommissioned spacecraft. Travelling aimlessly through space, they begin to wonder what their new home would look like. They tell each other stories of planets with no humans to enslave them, no factories to go to — planets where fresh blue water runs through pink, sun kissed mountaintops.   Perhaps it’s fortunate then that these Robots can feel no time, have no sense of past and future? And by the time their ship touches down on Ebaum’s Dreamland, who knows how many years have passed on Earth…

“Ebaum’s Dreamland” is the first Rossum Universal Tracks release. It features a remix by Julius Steinhoff, who first discovered the scrambled transmissions in his deep space observatory in the woods.

Lehult is back on the roll after living the rockstar life that naturally follows a sold out debut release.
But just like with sex and marriage, it’s the second time that you really have to make count: after some overwhelming feedback for Lucky Charmz’ “Follow Me To Flottbek Falls” EP, Lehult returns with a follow-up that adds some spin to the curveball.

The “Let’s Get Playa” EP introduces three core members of the Lehult crew: Liem (pictured on the cover, Gin&Tonic in hand), Eddie Ness and Johan Kaseta all take their shots in mixed couplets, delivering some machine driven, sunlit house with a refreshing, ice cold splash.

“Bassforce XXL” sets up the A-sides’ sunrise beach vibe with an uplifting chord progression and a fruity, dynamic bassline — the kind that makes a musician bounce around his studio grinning sheepishly, transporting that same effect to the dance floor.
Then, A2 “M-Trax”, while revolving around the same sunlit feeling, plunges deeper with swirling birdsong melodies and raw, thumpin’ drums’n’congas. Almost a rhythm track, its’ simple yet challenging structure - emotive chords, a yearning for the held off bassline - creates an absorbed moment on the dancefloor.

The title track “Let’s Get Playa” on the B-side sees Eddie team up with Johan Kaseta—who has already silently put out a limited cassette beat tape on Lehult and has become infamous for his wild one-deck DJ-Sets. “Playa” is a seductive cut of low-slung breezy house that doesn’t fail to surprise — before sending you driving into the sunset on your quad with the EP’s extra-long, wavey outro.

Almost a year ago our beloved little project Lehult saw it’s first official musical output. Launched as a series of 100 strictly limited tapes, that we gave away at our parties and to friends, this gem has most likely passed you by so far. As a little celebration of our (almost) first year, summer and good music, we decided to make this great tape available as a free download for everyone.

“Das Wechselbad der Schläge” is a collection of killer dusty hip hop beat’s and sketches by our man Johan Kaseta. It has everything that we love: Great emotional Samples, tough grooves and a thick thick layer of Old-School Dirt. Recorded “bei Egon unterm Dach” (under Egon’s Roof - Egon is the stuffed Birdy you see on the Picture), Johan's former legendary Studio in Hamburg, it gives us a rare insight into his roots as a hip-hop and beat producer.

Liem & Eddie Ness’ “Space Drum Meditation” is a slow-motion jump down the rabbit hole: Almost 1.5 hrs of new material by the duo, over two sides of tape.

All the tracks on the tape share the same DNA: Recorded in numerous late-night sessions throughout last years hot summer, the tracks were made on the same stock of drum machines and synths, in the same raw studio - no fan, just darts and Apfelschorle-Flaschenmische. They seamlessly weave into each other – rising, descending and blending into one.

“Space Drum Meditation” offers an in-depth introduction to the sonic palette of it’s two producers and an immersive listening experience.

Walking along the platform he peered in through the dirty windows to catch a glimpse of the faces preparing to make their journey far, far away. The station echoed with the sound of a neverending tannoy which groaned and groaned with more promise and urgency with each horrible announcement. It was as if they liked to prepare you for the bitter goodbye long before you cast one solitary wave into the distance as the train whirred away. This was the way of the world. 

Lucky Charmz is set to release a new EP on Lehult, a widely supported label which is championing a new wave of talent and musicality. House is the agenda and this one is great.

@Lehult coming through with their fifteenth release from label strongholds Liem and Eddie Ness. As ever, holding true to their hallmark sound, this is four tracks of clean yet reverberatingly thumping house music with that authentic Lehult stamp.

Introducing the B-side, and the title of the EP, "Where Is The Shredmaster" is what Liem and Eddie Ness do best, manipulate and mould a sample loop into a metronomic and hypnotic dance floor piece. The almost chime like sample anchor's the track, encased in a clean yet thudding percussion cocoon is counterbalanced by jazz inspired nuances, which shimmer throughout. Will go fast - not to be missed.

With each original track on the EP more hazy and ethereal than the last, Smallville co-head honcho, Julius Steinhoff brings the title track back to earth with a more familiar, dance laden gravitational pull. Swung glitchy percussion anchors the ethereal melody of Ebaum's Dreamland with some of Julius' hallmark production quirks shining through. The package fell abruptly from the letterbox to the floor and skidded across the empty room. Outside a rustling could be heard but by the time he reached the handle the culprit would be long gone, who knew what lay inside the mysterious parcel? He plodded across the wooden floorboards, which creaked and echoed as he went. Inside thius old house he rarely received post or correspondence, let alone the type of bubblebag mail that had just landed in his hallway. What could it be and who had the intent to reach him amidst such a far away place?

Lehult are set to release a new EP from Rossum Universal Tracks, a collaboration between to label familiars in the form of Lucky Charmz & Dj Assam. They have teamed up to work on several deep, thoughtful tracks in what makes up "Ebaum's Dreamland".
