Lehult is back on the roll after living the rockstar life that naturally follows a sold out debut release.
But just like with sex and marriage, it’s the second time that you really have to make count: after some overwhelming feedback for Lucky Charmz’ “Follow Me To Flottbek Falls” EP, Lehult returns with a follow-up that adds some spin to the curveball.

The “Let’s Get Playa” EP introduces three core members of the Lehult crew: Liem (pictured on the cover, Gin&Tonic in hand), Eddie Ness and Johan Kaseta all take their shots in mixed couplets, delivering some machine driven, sunlit house with a refreshing, ice cold splash.

“Bassforce XXL” sets up the A-sides’ sunrise beach vibe with an uplifting chord progression and a fruity, dynamic bassline — the kind that makes a musician bounce around his studio grinning sheepishly, transporting that same effect to the dance floor.
Then, A2 “M-Trax”, while revolving around the same sunlit feeling, plunges deeper with swirling birdsong melodies and raw, thumpin’ drums’n’congas. Almost a rhythm track, its’ simple yet challenging structure - emotive chords, a yearning for the held off bassline - creates an absorbed moment on the dancefloor.

The title track “Let’s Get Playa” on the B-side sees Eddie team up with Johan Kaseta—who has already silently put out a limited cassette beat tape on Lehult and has become infamous for his wild one-deck DJ-Sets. “Playa” is a seductive cut of low-slung breezy house that doesn’t fail to surprise — before sending you driving into the sunset on your quad with the EP’s extra-long, wavey outro.

Liem & Eddie Ness’ “Space Drum Meditation” is a slow-motion jump down the rabbit hole: Almost 1.5 hrs of new material by the duo, over two sides of tape.

All the tracks on the tape share the same DNA: Recorded in numerous late-night sessions throughout last years hot summer, the tracks were made on the same stock of drum machines and synths, in the same raw studio - no fan, just darts and Apfelschorle-Flaschenmische. They seamlessly weave into each other – rising, descending and blending into one.

“Space Drum Meditation” offers an in-depth introduction to the sonic palette of it’s two producers and an immersive listening experience.

During the uprising in 2000, aided by the League of Humanity, two of Dr: Gall’s advanced prototypes escape the Rossum Universal Robot factory and flee Earth on a decommissioned spacecraft. Travelling aimlessly through space, they begin to wonder what their new home would look like. They tell each other stories of planets with no humans to enslave them, no factories to go to — planets where fresh blue water runs through pink, sun kissed mountaintops.   Perhaps it’s fortunate then that these Robots can feel no time, have no sense of past and future? And by the time their ship touches down on Ebaum’s Dreamland, who knows how many years have passed on Earth…

“Ebaum’s Dreamland” is the first Rossum Universal Tracks release. It features a remix by Julius Steinhoff, who first discovered the scrambled transmissions in his deep space observatory in the woods.
