Lehult is back on the roll after living the rockstar life that naturally follows a sold out debut release.
But just like with sex and marriage, it’s the second time that you really have to make count: after some overwhelming feedback for Lucky Charmz’ “Follow Me To Flottbek Falls” EP, Lehult returns with a follow-up that adds some spin to the curveball.

The “Let’s Get Playa” EP introduces three core members of the Lehult crew: Liem (pictured on the cover, Gin&Tonic in hand), Eddie Ness and Johan Kaseta all take their shots in mixed couplets, delivering some machine driven, sunlit house with a refreshing, ice cold splash.

“Bassforce XXL” sets up the A-sides’ sunrise beach vibe with an uplifting chord progression and a fruity, dynamic bassline — the kind that makes a musician bounce around his studio grinning sheepishly, transporting that same effect to the dance floor.
Then, A2 “M-Trax”, while revolving around the same sunlit feeling, plunges deeper with swirling birdsong melodies and raw, thumpin’ drums’n’congas. Almost a rhythm track, its’ simple yet challenging structure - emotive chords, a yearning for the held off bassline - creates an absorbed moment on the dancefloor.

The title track “Let’s Get Playa” on the B-side sees Eddie team up with Johan Kaseta—who has already silently put out a limited cassette beat tape on Lehult and has become infamous for his wild one-deck DJ-Sets. “Playa” is a seductive cut of low-slung breezy house that doesn’t fail to surprise — before sending you driving into the sunset on your quad with the EP’s extra-long, wavey outro.

Forgot is a new record label based in South London.
Our first release, Forgot 001, is a four-track compilation set for release on 18 August 2017.

The EP spans many genres and draws influence from house, disco, hip-hop, jazz, funk and soul. The array of sounds and variety of production styles blend effectively and, whilst each track is unique in its own right, the compilation as a whole truly represents a sound we hope to promote.
Forgot resident Hoffy opens the EP with  Makei Klap ; a mid-tempo, jazz infused cut with an infectious piano loop and shuffling kicks. Brownswood Recordings affiliate Ratomagoson takes the tempo down with  Diesel Pump , a bass heavy, hip-hop oriented track, cleverly flipping a well-known vocal sample to great effect. The B-side introduces a deeper element;  David’s Vocal  from second Forgot resident Joe S fuses fizzy low-end synths, heavy hitting kick drums and loose, wandering melodies. The final track,  It Just Makes , is the heaviest offering from the release. Pila combines an effective, rolling bass line, creative hi-hat patterns and a cleverly chosen vocal sample.
Forgot is a collective made up of Jack Blythman, Jamie Cooling, Joe Cooling, Henry Hoffman, Joe Martin and Tomas Smare.

LUV005 already and no doubt another classy four tracker that will top a few sales charts in the coming weeks and months. It’s been a wonderful summer for the Luv Shack crew with every release bettering the last. The response and reaction to the new label has been astounding and beyond a pleasant surprise. With intelligent dance music such as this, it really shouldn’t be such a surprise, but in a world of mass mediocre music, it does happen more often than not, that the good stuff doesn’t always find its way. The guys though have found a place in a lot of hearts and quite a few tasty DJ sets and record boxes with four very consistent releases. So, here we go with what is yet another worthy addition to any half decent DJ’s repertoire me thinks.

And it is Lee Stevens who teams up with local friends to deliver a very crafted set of aural niceness for your distinguished pleasure. First up, collaborating with LeSale on LuvSick a soulful and later 80’s boogie joint reminiscent of Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. Keeping it simple and letting the groove do the work, this track will slide into your Disco set, nu or old, like a beautiful breeze.

Track two on the A side is Lee teaming up with label companion Jakobin on Find a Girl. Deeper, evangelical, actually quite ethereal, but with a proper wobbly basslines and some serious stomp on the kick drum. Like the drummer has one of those military boots on. Deep, deep celestial house in which you better turn the lights off in the club (or else!)

The deepness continues on the flip side with the first track Deep Inside featuring Simonlebon. Spacey and cosmic, bass and synthesizer heavy, but with the quality of weightlessness and a soft delicacy. It’s a little treasure of a track that will find some broad appeal, especially when you need to break up a “too banging” set. Think of “Equilibrium” and you know what I mean (hopefully?)

Finally, B-2 (and it is by no means the weakest link on this EP) is Domino in association with Lee on Be Yourself. Funky and flavoursome with bright young vocals and keys. Again, as with all Luv Shack outings, you get this effortless and sexy settled groove, basslines that softly shake the rump, and you always get simple sensual synthesizer action. The sexy track on the EP!

Quality mastering as always by the magician that is Patrick Pulsinger. Yeah, it’s another high calibre EP from Luv Shack. Enjoy!
