Who's up for a song named after an inside joke that's roughly based on the type of sounds you'd hear in a Castlevania game?

(Yes, it's part of EC, my personal project. >~>; The song plays in the ruins of what was once a great aristocrat's castle, before half of it went tumbling into the sea. Recently, a religious organization has been fixing it up as they try to take power in a certain region...)

Castle Geneiden

As the trees still drip with the bounty of the great storm, and the mountains still weep streams, the sun glistens off of everything, bringing warmth and heat back to a place where there was none for some time.

For the girl from Qaimusu though, a feeling of uncertainty lingers in the air, and of mysteries unsolved. Kerlynzia (where season 2 takes place) is her home country. She was born and raised here, but it may as well be another world entirely at this point.

When the story picks up again, she's headed back to Qaimusu to finally come to terms with herself, while simultaneously trying to find a way to prolong her own life.

This theme becomes the field map theme, once the big storm in season 2 clears up. A lot of nooks and crannies are filled with water still, from the storm, so there's secrets to be found in there for water-based characters. Or there would be, if the game ever gets made. :P

This song contains 4-5 leitmotifs from elsewhere in the project that are thematically related to it! You'll probably be able to pick them out!

I don't really often enjoy doing game remixes, I'll admit, but every now and then, it can be pretty fun! This song in particular has always inspired me, and confused the heck out of me. Learning to play it was a very educational experience! Driving around the San Francisco Bay Area at night (and especially criss-crossing the bay) made me think of this song a lot. I know it's not perfect, but I hope you enjoy it!

I'm still on vacation... just got back from roughly 700 miles of driving, and getting ready to do more! @~@  I will be returning home August 2nd!

Late, late in the project, as crunchtime was approaching, and things were looking pretty scary, I got stuck over and over again on one of the Final Dreadnought songs. Frustrated that I couldn't do anything helpful that night, I tried an exercise  to clear my mind. That exercise was simple – just play Pangu Lagoon 'acoustic' and sort out my thoughts and feelings so I could work! It was a stressful time, but ultimately, doing this really, really helped, and I was able to finish the soundtrack.
Like with the Fortune Night arrangement, this begins with how I play the song live, and segues into my more conventional style, beginning with (just like with Fortune Night) four hands worth of piano, and then going into drums, and more.
Both of these arrangements differ from the style I used on Freedom Planet, and more reflect the type of music I like to compose normally. It was fun to see how they would come out like this.  Both certainly came out emotional!

Early, early on in the story, when two sets of characters are introduced, one scales the mountain by day, the other by night. The different versions of the song help to identify just how different these people really are. 

This night time version here, which I actually did many years after the daytime version, shows a lot more of the old-west flair that Elancia is sporting.

READY? Welcome to another trip down memory lane...this was one of the first video game remixes I did back when I started with music production in 2008. My take on the theme of the first stage in Mega Man 8 (inspired by the Sega Saturn version of the game). About when I made this, I recall that I wasn't trying to make anything special. To be honest, this track was just practice of my learning songs by ear to play it on the piano and record via FL Studio...this was the result. Even at that time, I thought it could of been better but I got the main point across. The main point...which was (and is) to bring some smooth listening to your ear drums...A Emcee Muzik style.
