My entry for the Super MIDI Pak collab - and my first SNES chiptune (on real hardware!!) I was so fortunate to be allowed to make a late entry to this collab.

The SNES limitations were much tighter than I expected them, I initally overloaded the RAM by a huge margin just with my sequence data! So I eneded up having to simplify the song in some really weird and creative ways - especially because I wanted to keep volume automation for the sidechain effect! The samples are all custom, and heavily compressed and cut back as well. That was a lot of fun.

This is the first of the tracks off of the second Elancia Redux albums. The 'overworld theme' for the island Verse grew up on, Qaimusu. The second novel begins here, so it felt appropriate to upload it first!

Crossroads-Grave

Back when Elancia was going to be a game, it was going to have minigames. This song languished off and on every time the game was cancelled, uncancelled, re-cancelled, and turned into a book series.  This is the first time I've touched it since about 2009. Was fun to bring it back to life.
