Elancia Chronicles 2

Another field map theme from my personal project. This, and the two other versions of it (Day; https://soundcloud.com/leila-wilson-woofle/southern-kerlynzia-field ) (Night; https://soundcloud.com/leila-wilson-woofle/southern-kerlynzia-field-night ) all play in one of the nations in this project. The torrential rainstorm that occurs, and brings about this field map theme is the central focus of the part of the story where the characters are in this country.  [/endless rambling]

5 minute warmup sketch! I don't know if I'll ever do more with it. Trying to branch out in my chord usage.

I don't really often enjoy doing game remixes, I'll admit, but every now and then, it can be pretty fun! This song in particular has always inspired me, and confused the heck out of me. Learning to play it was a very educational experience! Driving around the San Francisco Bay Area at night (and especially criss-crossing the bay) made me think of this song a lot. I know it's not perfect, but I hope you enjoy it!

I'm still on vacation... just got back from roughly 700 miles of driving, and getting ready to do more! @~@  I will be returning home August 2nd!

Night version of Don't Look Down!

Early, early on in the story, when two sets of characters are introduced, one scales the mountain by day, the other by night. The different versions of the song help to identify just how different these people really are. 

This night time version here, which I actually did many years after the daytime version, shows a lot more of the old-west flair that Elancia is sporting.

The two-part version of the song leads into the daytime version, but someone experiencing the story will have to wait for night to fall to hear this.
More description available in the daytime version, which, like this one, includes several leitmotifs from earlier in the story.

I'm not sure why it came out so damn 80s/early 90s, but hey!

I'm finally back to a point in my life where I can focus on the 2nd album in the ECO series, Season 2 - Symphony of Heartless Certainty.  I had to go back and fix some of the writing in season 1's story, along with getting all the illustrations by a group of very talented artists inserted into it (Fortuna, Sorcerer Lance, and Cainethelongshot, as well as a special guest! Thank you all!) 

With that almost done though... it's time to finally get back to what I've been putting off for a year. This second album! Here's a taste -- the first track you'll hear. I'm pretty sure this album will have around 90 songs on it like the first album, but we'll see what the future holds! It really all depends on where the story takes the us...

Season 2 of ECO is meant to be full of musical call-backs, although I don't know if this one will be used or not. [Spoilers redacted.] We'll see. ^^; At this point, it looks like season 2 won't be releasing until 2017, although I don't think anyone's really that anxious for it. :P

Sorry I haven't posted/replied to anything in a while. It's been a rough few days.

Jungota City is where some of the most pivotal scenes in the second novel take place -- specifically during the night.

This will replace one of the older field map themes in season 2 of ECO.
There are a few leitmotifs included in this one that aren't in the daytime version. I felt this was appropriate due to the fact that Verse is given a little more time to think when traveling at night.

It's going to be a long time before I finish this either way, as I have a lot of work pertaining to the first book to do before it releases in spring. [Early WIP] Get by Again

Slowly working my way through the second Elancia Chronicles album to get it to a state where I'm totally happy with it. This song's been one that bugged me for a while -- not because the old version was bad or anything. It just didn't quite nail the feeling I was going for. I'm a lot happier with this one. It definitely fits Verse exploring her homeland again. 
As many of you may be able to tell, I took a lot of inspiration from the Suikoden series (mostly 1, 2 and G1/G2!) for this particular map theme.
