I really like the amount of depth in here.

I love that baseline and that little metal hitting sound. Makes it sound the least bit industrial which brings a unique touch to it that I enjoy.

Good stuff, as always. Love all the percussion.

Thinking back on my first read of the story, I kept forgetting to imagine Basil as a drunk soldier, it was always a sort of old fashioned honorbound knight vibe

This track is awesome. So many musical motifa laden throughout the track and it keeps going towards new directions as the song progresses. Easily a song I could listen to on repeat.

I'd been meaning to nail down the sound of some of the more serious/reflective conversations held in the fourth Elancia book. The characters get a lot of time to look inwards out on the frontier, and everyone's been through a lot, changed a lot, and suffered through it all. No one asked to go on this journey. It wasn't even meant to be one.
I like this a lot better than what I had done during the first album. I wanted to mix the gravity of the story/setting, with the weird/funky feel I gave a lot of the Elancia "lore" songs.

Theme of Basil, the drunken knight from ECO. I'd been meaning to take another crack at his theme for ages. I wanted to capture his weird, vainglorious nature, bizarre sense of chivalry, drinking problems and general social confusion all in one spot. Turns out that's hard to do!
Basil's brain is perpetually in fairy-tale mode, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't know how... anything works. He's a good fella, just not a very good choice for the 7th Chosen One, though.

Brought back an old song for Return to Aloha! The album's coming along at a glacial pace due to a bazillion other things dominating my life at the moment (chiefly things to do with the upcoming novel release!) I hope this song (and this adorable drawing of Capel by Renz!) will bring you some joy in the meantime. 
I think the song sounds very much like a busy place, so I figured "Workzone" would be a pretty good title for it. Also one of the few times I've gotten to do major key in the Capel albums!
