Senay - Dalkavuk (Turkey) Whilst more of a disco track, the drums that remind us of a traditional Turkish Davul inspired us.

Calcium - Elle Regarde, Elle Rit (France) The bass on this track influenced a lot of tracks including Tyranny 20, these guys did an amazing soundtrack to Les Idoles."

It’s always a mixed feeling listening to the lyrics on this. They equally make you laugh but also make you cringe and when Jemini comes in with the lines about Al Green at the end....ouch! Musically, I’ve put in some club friendly 100BPM drums and a rolling & hypnotic bassline.

100 MIN x 100 BPM MIX Vol. 1

Following on from his critically acclaimed 2019 solo album Poison Fruit, Azymuth’s iconic drummer Ivan ‘Mamão’ Conti returns with ‘Katmandu’, a new release from the Poison Fruit project. Though it was recorded and mixed in the same sessions, ‘Katmandu’ was mysteriously omitted by Mamão from the Poison Fruit album, either accidentally or on purpose, he’s not quite sure. What is for sure is that it’s one of the most potent poison grooves of them all.

The original mix, produced by Daniel Maunick, accompanies remixes from three of mainland Europe’s finest DJ/producer combos in the game, iconic German nu-jazz collective Jazzanova, MCDE Recordings & Faces Records’ Pablo Valentino, and Croatian house veteran Eddy Ramich with assistance from Zagreb duo Jan Kinčl & Regis Kattie.

This EP is the second in a series of limited edition dance 12”s celebrating 25 years of Far Out Recordings and is housed in a special sleeve which uses the label’s original semiquaver logo from 1994.

Heavenly Sweetness Radio Show #67

Romano (aka Lior Romano), the man behind the internationally acclaimed sound of Baharat, debuts his first solo record on the @batovrecords exclusive Middle Eastern Grooves 7” Series. 

Inspired by his roots and his upbringing, the record is a dialogue on a more personal level, representing a part of Lior so far unknown to the public. The music on this release is a thematic contrast to his previous Baharat releases, which are inspired by the liveliness of jamming together and creating a funky groove. Nevertheless, it delivers the same joyful intensity! The album, which was completed at the end of 2019, was created with the help of friend and producer Orel Tamuz and it’s a musical snapshot of very different aspects of Lior’s life and showcases his multicultural upbringing. 

Born to half-Turkish, half-Egyptian parents, and growing up in a Jewish household, Lior’s sound embraces his parents’ cultural heritage and his own musical background, mixing Turkish, Egyptian, and Greek folk music, surf and Mediterranean rock in a kaleidoscope of upbeat psychedelic groovy goodness. The influence of Omar Souleyman and Aris San’s work is very present in Lior’s work and can be made out from the ululating keyboards and high-pitched melodies in staccato form respectively. Featuring a blend of Arabic and Western structures, very funky basslines and catchy melodies, this instrumental record is the embodiment of fun and carefree celebration of the joy of making music.
