Very happy to present groove and beats pioneer Doni Kis! I met Doni in Porto back in 2016 at Maus Hábitos Club. Doni was playing and I got hoocked on his selection, skills and attitude behind the desks. His way of smoothly mixing soulful bass beats and catchy vocals to make the crowd bounce has been an inspiration since then. I'm very happy to finally have him on Le Mellotron, recorded in August in the beautiful Duro De Matar in Lisbon, a place that truly reminds me of the chill vibes of Le Mellotron bar in Paris. The Future Beats Show Episode 203

Hope you all are having a wonderful Tuesday! Spring has finally sprung and we are excited to kick it off with Dirtybird producer and selector Steve Darko. With a music library covering labels such as Audiophile XXL, Country Club Disco, Psycho Disco!, Dirtybird and several others Steve has been hard at work making lots of bootylicious house music to keep us groovin. He recently took his selecting skills to Holy Ship!, you can find him in Miami in a few days for a WMC party with some of the other Dirtybird Crew and the list of BBQ's and Festivals on the agenda is setting up to be a great summer indeed for Mr. Darko. He put together an incredible mix for us that will get you movin for sure and we are excited to share it with you! LAMP Weekly Mix #273 feat. Steve Darko

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Motown, the iconic record label launched in 1959 in Detroit, Michigan by Berry Gordy Jr., Carhartt WIP will release a thirteen-piece capsule collection in the coming weeks. The collaboration honors a label that reshaped the sound of American pop music, diversifying its airwaves in the process. 

To mark the collection launch, we reached out to Detroit native Kenny Dixon Jr. aka Moodymann and asked him to prepare a strictly Motown music Carhartt WIP Radio show, that displays his personal love for the label.
 
As Moodymann is not man for hasty reactions, he delivered a detailed mix featuring rare b-sides, interviews and live recordings by Motown artists like Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Steve Wonder, Kem and Dazz Band. Asked about his very own feelings towards his mix, Kenny Dixon Jr. simply says: “No matter where I‘m standing it’s good to hear home sometimes. These songs are woven into the soundtrack of my own personal movie.”  There is nothing more to add, only: enjoy the ride!
