Someone who has been at the forefront of music throughout his whole life whether its wearing his journalist hat, author cap, producer trilby, remixer bandana or of course his disc jockey deerstalker, Bill Brewster is an absolute tour de force of the scene.

We're thrilled that him and his Low Life partner in crime and fellow author Frank Broughton will join us on Dec 9th at The Golden Lion for a social shimmy shindig and to crank up the excitement factor he's done us this rather superb guest mix which you need to crack on & crank up asap!

Bill Brewster - Paper Guest Mix

It is not everyday we are sent a 5 hour mix from someone we have asked to join our Phonica mix series; but when Sheffield & Manchester legend Luke Una sends one… you have to jump straight into it! Having become first recognised in the late 80’s and 90’s as one half of production team “The Unabombers” with Justin Crawford, Luke over the years has shown to be a master in all genres be it Balearic, to Brazilian to E soul, House, Disco and Techno, you name it! With his Worldwide FM show over the years gaining a cult following Luke has gained an even more of a broader crowd from his curation of his E Soul Cultura compilation series via the label Mr.Bongo (Both comps topping our EOY lists in 2022 and 2023). This exact vast taste (that is displayed in these compilations) is very much pummelled into this five hour journey of a mix like a piece of clay and sculpted into a fine piece of art. C’est le constat que fait UN*DEUX lorsque qu’il est derrière les platines : il rassemble les foules, il les hypnotise avec une musique répétitive et il leur procure des émotions. Et c’est son parti pris depuis qu’il a donné un nouvel élan à sa carrière en 2020. 

Après les sorties d’Upgrade Yourself et d’Acid Guru, l’album Good Guru prévu pour Mai 2025 marque un nouveau virage pour l’artiste qui mixe avec groove et élégance ses influences électro/house et les sonorités indiennes qui lui sont chères, faisant écho à ses racines Sri Lankaises.

Le premier single « Karma » sortira le 31 Janvier 2025.

Isn't a good DJ also a good guru?

This is the realization UN*DEUX makes when he's behind the decks: he gathers the crowd, hypnotizes them with repetitive music, and evokes emotions. This has been his approach since he revitalized his career in 2020.

After the releases of Upgrade Yourself and Acid Guru, his album Good Guru, set for release in May 2025, marks a new turning point for the artist. He mixes with groove and elegance his electro/house influences with the Indian sounds he holds dear, reflecting his Sri Lankan roots.

The first single, "Karma," will be released on January 31, 2025.
