Tip top night at Band on the Wall in Manchester, to celebrate 15 years of my Manchester 'Keep It Unreal' residency. MC Kwasi was down on a night out, but couldn't resist a little mic session. Since April, this night has been a 'Non-Mobile Disco'.. no mobiles on the dance floor. Really helped the atmosphere, and we will carry on with this approach from now on. C’est le constat que fait UN*DEUX lorsque qu’il est derrière les platines : il rassemble les foules, il les hypnotise avec une musique répétitive et il leur procure des émotions. Et c’est son parti pris depuis qu’il a donné un nouvel élan à sa carrière en 2020. 

Après les sorties d’Upgrade Yourself et d’Acid Guru, l’album Good Guru prévu pour Mai 2025 marque un nouveau virage pour l’artiste qui mixe avec groove et élégance ses influences électro/house et les sonorités indiennes qui lui sont chères, faisant écho à ses racines Sri Lankaises.

Isn't a good DJ also a good guru?

This is the realization UN*DEUX makes when he's behind the decks: he gathers the crowd, hypnotizes them with repetitive music, and evokes emotions. This has been his approach since he revitalized his career in 2020.

After the releases of Upgrade Yourself and Acid Guru, his album Good Guru, set for release in May 2025, marks a new turning point for the artist. He mixes with groove and elegance his electro/house influences with the Indian sounds he holds dear, reflecting his Sri Lankan roots.

The first single, "Karma," will be released on January 31, 2025.

Hello friends,

This Thursday, August 14th, I’m back at my summer residency at La Milagrosa in South Williamsburg - a tiny speakeasy with just enough space for the music to wrap around us. I’ll be joined by some of my friends behind the decks, and we’ll play from 10PM until the night decides to end.
Milagrosa is one of those rooms where you feel every record. A handful of people, close enough to exchange smiles, close enough to hear the air between the notes.

I’ve been DJ-ing for over 25 years, collecting music from all corners of the world - each track carrying its own story, its own heartbeat. On Thursdays, I get to stitch these moments together: fresh discoveries, long-lost gems, and sounds that still give me goosebumps after decades. No hype, no big expectations, just a night for those who love music, connection, and the beauty of getting lost in a groove.

And here’s a little taste - I recorded my Sunday set at @Brooklynpopup at @Brooklynmuseum. Think of it as a warm-up for what’s coming this Thursday.

There are so many great albums out there including the 2 Virgin Ubiquities BBE put out... We could devote a whole week of radio programmes to Roy, his archive is so large… 

He is the key to all things between jazz, soul, disco and hip hop…. Thank you roy for all the music...

I have a small library of Mark's classic cassettes and this is definitely one of my favorites.
