We dance inside this creative web
we let ourselves fall all the way into its soft feather bed
and pulling curiously at any open thread,
we tie strings into crowns to sit atop our heads

We sculpt our lives out of love and clay
and open our minds to the delights of play
We craft our kingdom from colours and dreams 
and tell stories of where the human spirit has been

we build wings to carry our imagination 
and hurl our visions to the sky
we watch them form into great castles 
reflected in our eyes. 

In this month's episode I read the 'create' card of the Poesis deck and from New Zealander poet Hera Lindsay Bird. Featuring music from producers Joaquín Cornejo, Dave Echo and Jolasol; drifting ambiences from Perlemor and Four Hands; a gospel piece from LaShun Pace, and a broken love ballad from songstress AL.ANI.

Closing this episode with the voice of essayist/novelist Anaïs Nin as she reflects on the question of 'why one writes.'

Ep. 7 'how to start a fire once the umbers cease to glow' 

Welcome to the last episode of this exploratory season, giving way to a period of radio silence from me as the upcoming months of touring approach.

This week is full of haunting female vocals; a convergence of electronic, ambient and acoustic. There's poetry by Leonard Cohen and Kae Tempest & some of my own rough ambient takes. So light a candle in the dark, give a howl-out to the milky moon and move toward the elemental.

Featuring artists like Secret Act, Alabaster dePlume, Vincent Gericke, Ada, Dope Lemon, Melanie De Biasio, an early Devendra Banhart, Steve Bug, Degrees of Freedom, Sshellesh, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, the Caretaker & more.

I’m very happy to share with you a mix made for my dearest friend Aurelia and her new project Playgrounded; 'for explorers of aliveness'

The mix touches just a fractal of the (sub)consciousness within the infinite maze of reality. While there are endless possibilities, they all arise from a common source; we all arise from a common source. Now is the perfect time to remember what makes us human, our shared essence beyond any reason, race and religion. 

A collage of sounds, lucid thoughts and vibrations form the earliest origins of our communication and attempts to forge connection. music, before words, is our primary and universal language, the language of intuition and emotion. This hour is a deep trip into the textures of human feeling and our driving curiosity to reach beyond ourselves. 

It mix was presented as part of the Playgrounded installation at Château Perché Festival in June 2024.

'hmmm' is the live ambient project of myself and @harrycharles. We performed it for the first time this year - along with a DJ set - on Sunday morning at the Ambient Floor at Garbicz.

It’s 2020 and planet earth is undergoing a new wave of fear and confusion. As the humans battle through the paradox of connected isolation, the plants are prompted to root into a deeper level of communication with the forces that govern outer space. Becoming even sharper receptors of energetic information and spreading their life-loving spores, the plant kingdoms have formed a coalition with the galaxies. Together they devise to transmit love more efficiently, generate greater clarity-infused oxygen and continue to carry water, sunlight and healing through their underground networks so that it can be absorbed by all the lifeforms who feel lost among the stars.

The fourth episode in the mix series entitled Plant Poetry / 

dear plants, poets and pirates! a message seeded from the seabeds and underwater forests has been floating on the ocean's surface, and the wind has carried it to our shores and dance floors: 


“the times are not for the faint hearted - 
you are supposed to be alive!"
so sail the tides! 
make it a joy ride!” 



It's time to dive deeper into ourselves, exploring our inner depths, giving up some of our outer addictions, desires and comforts that might be causing damage to ourselves and other creatures we share this beautiful planet with. Maybe there are some old artefacts from the past that need to excavated, restored, released. Don't worry, we'll learn to breathe underwater. We’ll learn to become like seaweed, flexible to the currents of life, and make it look like we're dancing.

come back and share it 
with the world!"


Atop the ocean surface, things seem choppy and chaotic. Riding the waves is sometimes fun and thrilling, and other times treacherous and terrifying. As we recount the joys and sorrows of the ocean, we notice it's a wheel that never stops turning. Maybe we can travel deep enough to touch our own inner stillness, the great aquatic wonderland, the holy peace; that timeless, weightless, oceanic feeling, where the sunlight pierces through, casting a shimmering jig of light and colour.
