Erik (balErik) Molthe, is one of the leading DJs in the Oslo underground house music scene since he started DJing in 2001. One of Erik’s nights, Dirty Grooves, got nominated best club night of the year 2 years in a row in an online clubbing magazine as well as being nominated ‘DJ of the year’ by same magazine 3 times.
Erik has played with some of the best DJs in the world including Desyn Masiello, Omid16B, Demi, Danny Howells, Rowan Blades, Luke Fair, Nic Fanciulli, Audiofly, Yousef to name a few. balErik’s blend of deep house and driving techno music has taken him to gigs around the world in places such as Japan (Tokyo), England (London),  Mexico(Guadalajara), Russia(Murmansk), Poland (Warszawa, Szczecin), Croatia (Pula, Rijeka), USA (San Francisco, Miami, New York), Bulgaria (Sofia), Finland (Helsinki), Sweden (Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö), Latvia (Riga, Daugapils, Balvi) and Dubai.
Erik dedicates all his spare time to his musical passion. Whether he is making music, hunting for tunes, promoting for his next party, doing edits or special remixes music is always on his mind. His dedication has gained him support from the likes of Digweed, Deep Dish, Behrouz and Nic Fanciulli and Desyn Masiello, who gave him a position as A&R for his Alternative Route record label because of his keen ear for finding amazing new tracks.
In 2007 balErik set up a new digital label, Discoteca Music, with his partners Dana Bergquist, Tom Morgan, Luke Fair and Somnus corp. The label has numerous successful releases including two that are included on Renaissance and Global Underground compilations.

Erik has released tracks on Global Underground, Discoteca Music, Plastic City, B.E.B.R, Union Jack Records.  He incorporates all these musical gems into his sets which make them so unique, a nice blend of old and new, tech and house and everything in between mixed in such a fluid way your body just can’t stop moving!

balErik - Freshblood - WE LOVE SPACE - December 09 WINNER:
Hailing from Oslo, balErik has gained a big following in Norway and from the mix he sent us we can see why. Inspired by a set he played in a New York club, it's got that classic house sound that became synonymous with the Ibiza music scene. This mixed with some more modern techno tipped tracks lends itself to a great mix and a deserving winner.

Firuz' background is as exotic as his music. He was born and raised in his father's native country of Tajikistan. His gene pool is truly exotic, a real goulash of ancient civilizations and modern tribes. On his mother's side there's Russian, Ukranian, Polish and Greek blood, whereas his father's side are descendants of an ancient Persian royal dynasty. 
Firuz grew up in the mountainous region of Gorno Badakhshan surrounded by the Pamir mountains, some of the tallest in the world. The area borders Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and China. The Pamir population speaks ancient Persian languages unique to this world and has survived in their mountainous stronghold in spite of being in a troubled region. This mixture of civilizations has created a truly unique culture.
Key to the Pamir culture is music and dance. Any excuse is used to take out the drums and string instruments, such as the indiginous rubab, to create great tunes. Everybody joins in and soon you have a veritable jamfest with the entire village!
Firuz, like most other kids, learned to play various instruments. The real revolution came with satellite TV and music channels from abroad. Influenced by all these new sounds, he decided to learn English to better understand what they were talking about on MTV and soon began to incorporate Western music into the traditional, tribal music of his region. Many of his friends followed suit, some of them are now established music celebrities in various countries around the globe. 
 Firuz' taste for house music grew stronger and he started to play small gigs for friends and colleagues. Rumors soon spread and Firuz' popularity increased. 
After playing in various locations such as Russia (Moscow), Caucasus (Baku and Tbilisi), Middle East (Beirut) and USA (Miami), Firuz ended up in the cold, dark, northern country of Norway. Perfect for his mood, the long winter nights gave extra inspiration for his darker side and influenced his music further. Today, Firuz is well established as a popular and sought after DJ in his genre, pumping out his rhythms to a loyal and growing crowd of fans not only in Norway, but far beyond.
