Hi all,

I decided to upload my recording of the 3-hour set I did at ‘’The Observatory’’ in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam back in October 2022.

Because of the lovely people that run Slow Motion Records, I got the chance to play at this amazing club which is located all the way up in a 10-story high building. 

The experience was truly something I will remember, It was so cool to be able to share my music at a place so far from home. Thanks to everybody involved that got me this gig. 

I really hope to return one day to Vietnam.

'Local Tourist' is the second 2 track EP from Adelaide based producer and DJ, Hi, I'm Jack. Following on from his recent release of '1994', Hi, I'm Jack continues to combine groove inducing beats with euphoric sounds. This EP focuses on providing the listener a way to drift off and listen deeply with intent.

‘Sound of Nothing’ kicks the EP off with deep percussion grooves that pave the way for euphoric synth lines with melting acid that coming in and out through the track.

Dedicated to the twang of Roland’s silver baseline box with a varied string of artists: DVS1, Marko East & Jordi Chu (whose collaboration sparked the idea of a whole series), Like A Tim via Prins Thomas, Katerina and I:Cube.

The Parisian put it in a nutshell, too: „Although rinsed to death to the point of becoming a parody of itself, acid will last forever.“ Therefore, his Folie Noire is combining the original recipes with hypnotic European influences, while Marko and Jordi present a rough and direct 303-909 live jam, Prins Thomas puts his wickedest smile on Like A Tim’s Wonderline from 2005 and Katerina sets a lucid dream to sanguine music.

Finally, there is a rare and much desired musical outing by the unique DVS1. A direct ode to Chicago’s acid and beatdown styles and its Midwest companions, it is a heads-down-lights-down late night track made for driving up and down Lower Wacker Drive. Trippy trip artwork by the inimitable Gasius.

Trivia: If the piano is the bread of house music, the acid line is its butter!

Delicate Features is the moniker of composer Pavel Diakov and vocalist Radmila Nikogosian, a duo who have recently fled their native St Petersburg. Since making their debut in 2012, they have released music on this label as well as Cellar Tapes and Not Not Fun Records, exploring immersive soundscapes that invite listeners deep into their world. The events of the last year have led to the pair fleeing their homeland in search of a place that better represents their ideals and can provide the artist freedom they require. "The idea for this EP came to us during our escape from Russia," says the pair. "The last few years in Russia have been difficult. The government's pressure on freedom was felt more strongly so when the war was launched we urgently left Russia and went to Yerevan in Armenia since we could no longer stay in the aggressor country. The EP is a response to these terrible events that began in 2022 and are continuing to this day. It is an attempt to immediately reconsider what we have and make a change toward a peaceful future." The opener' Formula of Faith' is a cosmically minded cut with beautiful melodic patterns unfolding over warm, rubbery house beats. It's wistful but dynamic while 'Economic Outlook' is a dreamy and deep cut of synth-laden dub. Pads are smeared across a starry sky with all the soul of Detroit while the plump drums and buried bass add weight below. The fantastic 'Get Ready' is a quick and physical house track with razor-sharp hi-hats and more majestic pads. The fulsome groove is detailed with meaningful chords that turn thoughts inwards as the drums power on. The excellence continues on 'Melting Dream' which is cosy backroom music with emotional depth and persuasive drums. The myriad synth wisps and floating chords make it a heady affair that pairs romance with ruefulness. Last of all is the humid atmosphere and cavernous dub chamber of 'Speed Of An Immobility' which sounds both futuristic and timeless. It's a world of subtle pads and booming bass that has real energy and tension. This is stylish and well-crafted music that truly brings something fresh to the dance floor.
