Crustation is a Trip hop band, formed by Ian Dark, Stig Manley and Mark Taylerthe, three producers from Bristol. In the 80s they played in bands with Adrian Utley of Portishead. For their late Crustation songs they used the collaboration of female vocalist Bronagh Slevin. In 1994 they released two EPs under Cup of Tea Records (label of Monk & Canatella, Statik Sound System and Purple Penguin). Released their only album Bloom in 1997, under the name of Crustation with Bronagh Slevin. They do a mellow and gloomy trip hop.

Solid Steel in association with Serato (15th January)In Hour 2 we welcome Lo Shea celebrating the release of the 'Northern Lights' EP on his Hope Works imprint, which is also the name of the club night he runs in Sheffield. He told us;
"For this mix i wanted to do something that is a peak time journey. Condensed into an hour i have little time to explore as thoroughly as i would like to in 2-3 hours of course...but it gives a fair idea.
For me, musically i like to switch things up through a set...not be linear...and be rhythmically adventurous. I always play specially made tracks in my sets, this is no exception, with a few brand new pieces i created recently for my sets. i've got a mixture of my own music and new unreleased stuff from producers i love as well as some tracks that have really stood out for me recently. I'm a UK guy who has been involved with many UK forms of dance music and loves a lot of different music from around the world. hopefully the mix gives you a better idea than words of what that means. It was recorded on 13th jan 2016 in my studio on 2 technics, 3 Cdj's and a mixer. I hope you like it."

Stepping up to the prestigious Ransom Note mix series we have one of our favourite Scandinavian Disc Jockeys, Skatebård. The Norwegian electronic music scene seems to be awash with talent these days between the likes of the Sex Tags crew, Todd Terje, Bjorn Torske, Prins Thomas, Telephones, Röyksopp and the Full Pupp crew. There is certainly a distinct sound now running downstream from a country which wasn't previously known for its reputation in the world of Electronic music. Skatebård has been releasing music for the last fifteen years. His sound is a blend of Italo, House, Electro, Disco and beyond.

Rolandson - er selbst bezeichnet sich als »Kind der Ostsee« und ist sowohl in Schweden/Uppsala als auch in der Hansestadt Rostock verwurzelt. Aktuell lebt der sympathische 38-Jährige im beschaulichen Halle an der Saale. Sein Herz, so viel verrät er über sich, schlägt für so viele wundervolle Dinge, die er auf seinen Reisen gesehen und kennengelernt hat, sodass er sich selbst als einen Reisenden versteht, der »seine Gedanken und Gefühle zu Bildern formt und diese dann hin und wieder in Mixtapes verpackt«. Seine Sets reflektieren so oftmals einen Teil seiner ganz eigenen Gedanken- und Gefühlswelt, ein durchaus tiefer und persönlicher Einblick, den er uns jedoch gerne gewährt, denn: »Dessen Werk wird Bestand haben, der nicht darauf aus war zu gefallen, sondern dem nur eines am Herzen lag: wahr zu sein. « (Jean Cocteau)

Seit gut 20 Jahren legt er nun schon auf und verzaubert die Hörer mit seinen unglaublichen Sets, in denen er sich gerne mal selbst verliert. Somit will kein Genrestempel an Ihm haften bleiben, keine musikalische Schublade so recht passen und genau das zeichnet Ihn musikalisch wie menschlich aus: Klischees vermeiden und dafür stets mit musikalischer Offenheit und Vielschichtigkeit auf sich aufmerksam machen.

Wenn er nicht gerade hinter den Decks steht, dann kümmert er sich mit jeder Menge Herzblut und einer ordentlichen Portion Leidenschaft um sein Projekt, den Seasidetrip Podcast, das er bereits 2012 ins Leben rief. Erwachsen aus dem ersten Mixtape, seinem »Seasidetrip – the arrival«, das während seines Aufenthalts auf dem Darß, also tatsächlich am Meer, entstand, schaffte er es, andere Künstler mit dem wunderbaren Grundgedanken dieser Podcastreihe anzustecken und dafür zu begeistern. Bekannte und unbekannte Musiker haben so und bis heute ihre Gedanken und Gefühle, welche die Liebe und Sehnsucht zum Meer widerspiegeln, in Musik übersetzt und diese – frei von Vorgaben und Zwängen – in einem Mix verpackt. Und so wächst sein selbst definiertes »liebevolles Kleinod im Zirkus Universum« zu einem ganz zauberhaften Projekt heran, das nicht nur die Künstler in ihrem Schaffen vereint, die Hörerschaft wieder und wieder auf atemberaubende musikalische Reisen entführt, sondern auch intensive Freundschaften und inspirierende Kooperationen wachsen und gedeihen lässt. - Das ist Rolandson und er lädt jede und jeden dazu ein, mit ihm die Welt ein bisschen bunter zu machen.

"I will never forget my first burn in 2008. Searching for good music on the playa back then was not as easy as recent years. Every corner was blasting either dubstep or electro type of genres  which was not in my interest and finding Robot Heart by accident during a night time adventure with my friends was one of the best find on the playa. 2008 was also Robot Heart's 1st year in Burning Man and as I remember I was one of the 100 people dancing right in front of it and dreaming that one day I will be playing on this amazing stage on wheels. It was only few years after that on the night Damian Lazarus took over the bus with his party called "Rebel Heart". After that night my whole perspective on music completely changed and I was so influenced by that night's unheard music that I made a record called "Rebel Heart" as soon as I got home from the Burn, which shaped up my whole career in the right direction. It was such an honor to finally make the dream come true and be part of Robot Heart's line up last year. Big thank you to Robot Heart crew for making this happen and taking great care of me while I was performing on Wednesday night. Looking forward for more exciting years to come."

Zum Anfang des Monats haben wir wieder einen wunderschönen Podcast für euch. Der 959er, der weit über die Münchner Grenzen für seine schönen und durchdachten Sets geschätzt wird und schon in Clubs wie dem Kater Blau und der Ritter Butzke in Berlin gespielt hat, steuert unsere Nummer 12 zu unserer Serie bei.

Interview:
Wie und wann bist du zur Elektronischen Musik gekommen?
Musik an sich war schon immer ein großer und wichtiger Bestandteil in meinem Leben, da war der Schritt sich auch mit elektronischer Musik zu befassen ein absolut logischer den ich etwa vor 15-16 Jahren gemacht habe. Direkt Techno war es nicht, aber die Musikrichtung Jungle Jazz und die Band Prodigy haben dazu viel beigetragen.

Welche Musikalischen Momente sind dir besonders in Erinnerung geblieben?
Puh, da gab es wirklich einige!
Wenn ich an meinen ersten Auftriit als Pauker in einem klassischen Orchester denke, war das sicher so einer, aber dazu gehört auch ganz klar mein erster Gig im Ritter Butzke, sowie das spielen in einem Iglu auf 2000 Metern höhe und mein Gig im Katerblau / Acidbogen. Aber genauso sind auch viele Partys hier in München absolut erinnerungswert. Dazu gehört mein erster Auftritt auf dem Wannda Circus Open Air in einem Zirkuszelt, sowie in der Roten Sonne oder dem Bahnwärter Thiel.

Gibt es Zukunftspläne?
Erstmal steht dieses Jahr ein Release an auf welches ich wirklich stolz bin, dafür wird gerade noch der passende Remixer gesucht, alle weiteren Infos dazu gibt es irgendwann später 
Eins noch dazu, die Nummer ist mit meinem guten Freund F.I.E.L.D.Y entstanden und kommt voraussichtlich gegen Juli 2016.
Für die fernere Zukunft hoffe ich natürlich, dass ich noch möglichst viele wunderschöne Momente mit und durch die Musik genießen kann.

Lente creates a groovy and playful sound, which takes the audience on a great trip. He got in touch to the electronic scene in Oslo and started to do own parties and productions quite some time ago. He is known for long and deep sets and played in famous clubs, like Sisyphos and Kater Blau in Berlin and many more. In Oslo he is known for crazy day parties and sets, which let people get lost in between. He is now working on his upcoming singles for Edelgran Records. 
He believes in freedom and peace and thats also a message he wants to spread. Giving people a great time and a chance to love each other.
