Lighta! Sound and its crew of artists are largely credited with bringing dubstep and UK bass music into Vancouver's consciousness. Hugely influential to the fabric of dance music in the city, they are at the heart of a dynamic community built on inclusion and respect. For more than a decade they have remained firmly rooted in many facets of Western Canada's electronic music subculture.

The inaugural Babel Printed & Pressed record contains two retrospective original tracks and accompanying remixes from Lighta! Sound founding members Taal Mala and Michael Red. The accompanying magazine insert contains first hand accounts from the early days of Lighta! and this defining time in Vancouver from community members Jamie Abugov and Andrew Ryce.

As we debut another new artist on Instigate, of course we have the next installment of the INSTiFREE Series. Hosted by new talent on the label - Onnen.

Here at Instigate we like to release music for all seasons. Onnen does not disappoint with his offering to the series, bringing mellow rhythmic melodies while underlining a perfect balance between glitch hop and dubstep drums.

A perfect way for Onnen to introduce himself and his sound to the dubstep community, expect to hear more vibes like this on this forthcoming EP entitled 'Lost Soul' featuring Khromi, releasing on 3rd August.

hello! 

after being stuck on an island far down south for 3 years i finally ended up swinging back to my old country where i saw many friends and family. during my nomad living style here I recorded and collected memories super dear to me while processing remnants of the past, homesickness, dusty jetlag and a lot of hidden warm energy from love of people I haven't seen in ages. 

cloudstreet is a record about feeling lost in identity and the feeling of being isolated in a gigantic world around us. 

the whole world is connected by air and our oxygen, yet we're ever so detached from each other. 

thanks a lot to Kyle McEvoy on the title track and the brightest stars and In Love With A Ghost for some additional production on the last piece of this album. hope you enjoy it as much as this was a joy to be abled to share this with the world 

all the best and always remember to help yourself through hard times, x
