"regalecus glesne" is the fourth song of a series of successful single releases from the top Gipsy-Jazz band in Japan ( the 1st one has been selected as cover of Spotify’s editorial playlist, and both the 1st and 2nd ones have ranked number one in i-tunes’ JAZZ chart in Japan). 

“regalecus glesne” features the virtuoso drummer Motoharu and saxophonist Ryo Shibata as guests, as for their previous singles, but the song is quite distinct from them. Untitled after the Latin name of the giant oarfish, the 5 meters-long "Sea monster" figuring on the cover artwork, the song has a 7-minutes length that could be intimidating. But just as the fish, it has no harshness, and unwinds into a melodious and relax track where the breathing of the horn and the guitar lean on robust middle tempo beats. 
After one round of the same motif, a new melody takes over from the middle of the song, before going back to the previous theme, giving to the piece a progressive unfolding that prevents it from being monotonous despite the length. It certainly helps that the same refrain phrases all have some little differences that sound like improvisation, encouraging listeners to pay close attention to the details, and showing one more time that BimBomBam Orchestra and their guests excel in breathing life into their instruments.
