For this month’s episode of Instagram vs. Reality on Mapped Out Radio, or in this case, YouTube, Amber Long chats with Ottawalks, an Ottawa-based YouTube channel providing walking & biking videos of the city that recently saw a lot of action on their YouTube. 

Ottawalks, by doing what they have done throughout the pandemic to shine a light on Ottawa, had no idea the impact their winter walks and the channel would have on the world.

For the music mix, Amber takes time to research what producers have been making and how they have been using their passion. Producers expressed themselves emotionally and politically and kept themselves inspired when the live events industry came to a grinding halt.

D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music opens the summer season by presenting new interpretations of 'Uno Dau' by Digital Mess and Temestry. Included as part of DJ Ruby's 'Constellations: Orion' collection from September of last year, the Original Mix stood out alongside selections from Andre Moret, Fabri Lopez, Kenan Savrun, K Loveski and more. The duo's tough, dancefloor minded approach found favour with both progressive and melodic house and techno DJs alike, ultimately setting the course for new interpretations by Ewan Rill, Doriaan, and Cathy K. Veteran artist and Sever Records boss Ewan Rill has long been regarded as one of the progressive scene's most creative remixers. Making his return to the label he only adds to that sentiment with a rolling, percussive rendition of 'Uno Dau' that's nicely dialed for a darker dancefloor. Meanwhile, also returning to the label and fresh off a release for Nature Rec, Mexican artist Doriaan flexes his melodic chops with a playful yet tough rendition that complements the previous two selections quite nicely. Rounding out the release with the final interpretation of 'Uno Dau' is Cathy K who makes her label debut. The Maltese artist takes a cue from the original and follows a darker monochrome with a version that provides chunkier grooves and smooth mid-set style energy.

RONA is an electronic music producer and vocalist and a the owner of @mantramusiclabel based in haifa, Israel.

Inspired by iconic producers such as Above & Beyond , Armin Van Buuren and Hans Zimmer, at the age of 7 Rona developed an interest in vocal trance and classical music, which she ended up studying later. She grew up listening to the all-time greats, such as Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson, Nirvana, and Beyonce, to name a few, which serve as her inspiration to this day.

At the age of 20 Rona started studying music production, and over the years she has developed her own unique sound and direction, which she is perfecting constantly. Her approach is independent and she does it all on her own. Her vocal tone is soulful, which envelops in her melodic productions to give a uniquely beautiful sound to her music.

The content of her music speak of consciousness, sound, and the ability to connect with yourself in spite of difficulties. There is a spiritual statement with a danceable sound - an interesting and entertaining combination that definitely delivers her message of connection to the self through the vibrations of sound.

Encyclopedia was founded in 2021. Since its creation, the artistic direction has been driven by the design and creation of visual and musical supports. Encyclopedia also deploys a wide range of artistic interventions, which aim to share the different facets and singularities of our concept. Encyclopedia as a broadcaster has put together other playlists like Voyager, Mesopotamia, Destination and Monophony that you can discover on streaming platforms.
