When we heard that we were to play the opening set on Wiese main floor at Nation of Gondwana 2023 (the 29th issue of this mainstay of Open Air culture, btw) we were unsure what to make of it. Surprisingly it worked out quite well. Hugz to our steadfast fanbase still turning up in numbers after 22 years! More thanks the red hot ´n hungry festival crowd who made it such a blast and the marvellous NoG Team still making it happen. Punks not dead! [deep Kotau]

Nation of Gondwana 2023 - Opening Wiese Floor

You walk under a setting sun. The horizon separates two different shades of red and the rocks scattered around you draw sharply contoured shadows that grow longer and longer. You’re at the center of a slowly moving cloud of dust and in your mind’s eye you compare its size to the immensity of the plateau and you find comfort in the insignificance of an individual’s footprint in this uncaring and beautiful land. Then, while the fiery eye is slowly turning into a burning slice of grapefruit, a dying ember, a memory, you enter the winding path down. You’ve been here before and you know: the tight tunnel you’re walking will widen, expand and open into endless caves, eerie lit by crystals and fairy lights; the music that brought you here bouncing from stalagmite to stalagmite, strange voices calling, creatures of all shapes and sizes pirouetting, stepping and shaking, rising and falling, lifted by a deep frequency as fundamental as earth’s pulse itself. Dancing down there, you can relax, let go, jump, fly, let go, trip, soar and finally rest and, if you feel like it, rewind and start all over again.

Behind the decks, he seamlessly blends digital media with analogue vinyl, always dancing, smiling, and engaging with the crowd. His eclectic sound spans from downtempo grooves to dynamic house beats and deeper melodic techno, always tailored to the vibe of the venue and the nature of the party. Vocals and distinctive melodies often enrich his sets, creating an immersive experience that allows audiences to escape everyday life and lose themselves in the music.

Sebastian’s talent has graced numerous renowned clubs in Munich, including Harry Klein and Bahnwärter Thiel. His reputation has also taken him beyond Bavaria, with performances in Berlin’s iconic Birgit Club, and international gigs in Austria, Thailand, Morocco, and Sri Lanka. Festival-goers have also enjoyed his sets at events like Midsommar and Megaton.

Playing on the Maxa Artcar was a unique experience. I had almost no reception and had no idea where to find the car on the playa. So my 2 wonderful friends Mattia, Ruxi, and I rode our bikes onto the playa at night. It was the first time in my life that I had to look for the stage I was playing on. In the middle of the sea of lights and after hours of searching, we saw the iconic reindeer of the Maxa car just in time. We drove next to the car and tried to make contact. The people on the wagon waved cheerfully at us. It took a while until someone in the celebrating crowd understood that I was the next DJ. When the van eventually stopped, I jumped up and started my set. What an adventure. And what a feeling to live this dream, to play on this Artcar! One of my favorite playa memories.
