@stylesinblack is back with the second full-length album in the eclectic beatmaker’s discography - Mind Vacation.

‘Mind Vacation’ was crafted in northern South America over the past year after Styles initially left what was familiar in America to pursue a more open and conscious experience in the southern hemisphere, away from the everyday grind of life that so many of us are familiar with. Intending to stay for only a period of months, COVID-19 and the current
climate of the United States has seen Styles make a more permanent home in South America. This album is a reflection of the experiences, memories, and frame-of-mind garnered throughout.

As heard in the voiceover of the opening title track of the album, Mind Vacation (featuring Philos label-mate Derlee)perfectly frames the careful and intentional message behind the album:

"The stress of the streets can hold you down, you know? In this concrete jungle, you need to find a little time for meditation. So quiet your mind, and open your heart, and find your true self. The peace, the joy. The silence. Within your heart is a place of silence and supreme wisdom. When you arrive there, the whole world will be your home. Find that place."

Styles in Black - Brighten Up Your Day

Leo Napier has become a "prominent voice in the electronic funk/soul arena" (Stereofox) since emerging from the New York EDM circuit in 2015.   Leo came on to the scene by contributing several songs to projects by pioneering DJ/producers GRiZ and Gramatik. He captured the attention of Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon, who features alongside Napier on Gramatik’s most successful single to date, “Native Son.” The stellar collaboration was followed by “Native Son (Prequel),” also written and performed by Leo. It went on to become the lead track off Gramatik’s full-length album, Epigram, released in 2016.

It’s been a busy year for Napier, who once again teamed up with GRiZ on the track “Before I Go.” Their previous collaboration “A Fine Way To Die” has garnered millions of streams to date. 

Leo is a musical chameleon. His voice and lyrical tendencies lend themselves to a variety of genres from folk, to hip-hop and Neo-soul.  His versatility and magnetic stage presence captivate audiences wherever he plays.

His upcoming record is in-keeping with recent collaborations within the EDM genre, a mix of classic funk/soul with hard hitting electronic rhythms. The songs are gritty urban tales with a cast of colourful characters peppered with Leo's signature brand of dark humour.
