Product of the nineties, Speedrax spent his childhood between a classic musical upbringing (piano, guitar and the likes) and a magnetic attraction to new technologies, synthetizers, sequencers, Atari & Amiga that lead him to start messing around with them, tinkering with his first tube record players to turn them into disto and tamper with the programm of his not-yet-vintage-at-the-time drum machines.
After studying cinema and musicology and a few parisian years where he played in rock bands and worked in "the music industry" as they say, he landed in Switzerland where he gave birth to his new project. A novel and a rock concept-album later, Speedrax really started the day he bought an old TR 909 that he needed for a set by Jeff Mills. This drum machine became the center of a small set up just for fun, which became quickly a daily work ritual. That's when his infliuences from cinema, rock and the newfound electro cocoon of his residencies at D! Club in Lausanne & Dachstock in Bern come together to create his universe, a bit punk, a bit SF, a bit dancefloor.
Influenced, as a kid, by Blade Runner's Vangelis as well as Daft Punk or Phillip K. Dick's books, as an adult, he put all that and more into his first EP "Love Apocalypse", 4 halftone electro rock tracks, both nostalgic and energic, romantique and disenchanted.

Produit des 90's, Speedrax passera son enfance entre éducation musicale classique (piano, guitare et compagnie) et attraction magnétique pour les nouvelles technologies, synthétiseurs, séquenceurs, premiers Atari et autres Amiga qui l'ameneront à bricoler ses premiers tournes disque à lampes pour en faire des disto et trafiquer les programmation des beatbox pas encore vintage d'alors. Après des études de cinéma et de musicologie et quelques années parisiennes à jouer dans des groupes de rock et à travailler dans "l'industrie de la musique" comme on dit, il arrive en Suisse ou son nouveau projet prend forme. Après l'écriture d'un roman et d'un concept album plutot rock, Speedrax a en fait vraiment démarrer le jour ou il a racheté une TR 909 dont il avait besoin pour un set de Jeff Mills. Cette boite à rythme est rapidement devenu le centre d'un petit setup, qui, au départ pour rigoler, est devenu une routine de travail. Se melange alors ses influences du cinema, du rock et le nouvel écrin plus electro de ses résidences au D! Club de Lausanne, et au Dachstock de Berne pour créer un univers un peu punk, un peu SF, un peu dancefloor.
Influencé, kid, par le Vangelis de Blade Runner aussi bien que par Daft Punk ou les bouquins de Phillip K. Dick, on retrouvera, adulte, un mélange de tout ca dans son premier EP "Love Apocalypse", 4 titres electro rock en demi teinte, à la fois nostalgiques et énergiques, romantiques et désenchantés.

It's easy to take a line from a thesaurus and just run with it but sometimes a track comes along which deserves that litte bit more, this track is one of those!
Newcomer Van Staen sorts us out a techno monster with the help of Leonard de Leonard, head Honcho at Leonizer records.  Well known for his colabs with Andrew Claristidge, LDL is known as much for his ear for a tune as he is for his production skills and this is hard forensic evidence of that!
This is a full on stomper. Bubbly bass bumps uglies with kicks which summon the dancefloor beast in all of us. A classic 3am stomper which claps when it needs to, hats which make the floor all yours if that's what you truly want and cheeky stabs which just make you want to dance!

Long time close collaborators from radio shows, studio sessions, party series to sound engineering, Berlin-based French producers @La-Fraicheur & @Leonard-de-Leonard join forces again on @Leonizer-Records to create a slow, dark, muggy and moody track with vocals that encapsulate the queer Berlin club life in a nutshell.

Murky is built on the duality of a playful synth lead, spacious percussions and sound design evoking the reverb bouncing of the high ceilings of the city’s industrial club spaces. Showcasing the wide spectrum of electronic music that they cherish, the remixes are left in the hands of Projekt Gestalten, Kasey Riot and Club Bizarre.

French duo @Club-Bizarre have been a leading figure over the past decade in the slow bpm / dark disco electronic scene and their remix walks an intoxicating line between warm summery groove and a sinister taunting synth-line.

Longtime collaborators @la-fraicheur & @leonard-de-leonard are coming up with a techno live performance with brand new material, mixing analog, digital and modular, from which the two original tracks from the Sang Chaud EP are the first excerpts, giving a glimpse into their acid and industrial sound ruffed up by a punk energy. 

Berlin born and raised producer @modigofficial released his first EP on Soma this year, soon to be followed by an album. In the middle of this work in progress he came up with a 90‘s inspired remix for 'Sang Froid' like a ravey trip with cutting Thunderdome-like stabs, swirling bass, catchy vocals and playful breaks.

With the second vinyl release of its new record label venture, Gegen showcases two staples of the Berlin club scene.

On the A side, Berghain regular DJ, acclaimed producer and multi-label founder Oliver Deutschmann brings his signature sound of hypnotic “8-AM-on-a-Sunday” big room techno. “Wach” (awake in German) has the kind of sound that builds on layers upon layers of skillfully designed drums.

On the B side with “Roadkill”, Gegen’s own residents La Fraicheur & Leonard de Leonard come up with a moody track carrying a weird combination of gritty and dirty synths with spacious sound design that make you wonder if you didn’t get thrown off the side of the Milky Way by a boisterous clunky spacecraft on its last leg.

I'm a popper & locker but had a severe injuries at a few battles some years ago. Now after a nice break for my joints & years of physical therapy, I'm in the process of getting back in the battle scene. Before my first battle invitation months from now,I'll select the exact beats I dig for my freestyle practice sesh videos,I'll post a link to my IG on here (procrastinating on recording them!). 

So make sure to check this page again in a few weeks! 


Any recommendations will be very welcomed, especially on Beatbox tracks. I prefer them for practice cuz they have the diversity of intervals I need for different styles and also often have several beats going on almost in parallel (not a musician, sorry no idea what's the term for that), so let me know if you have a track in mind!
