I was introduced to Abi at the end of 2010 through a mutual friend - Johnny Dub who co-runs the excellent Manchester night hoya:hoya. Instantly I was blown away by her voice
I sent her some stuff that was on a slightly different tip to my usual beats. She dug it, sent it back - worked on it some more, Tobyjug was born and i'm glad to say it has been the start of a long working relationship and friendship.
 
We worked together a lot last year on her solo material and the year culminated in Abi flying to Berlin to work with Benjamin Damage and I on our recent album They!Live.

Homework, a duo based in Amsterdam, have been teasing everyone with a little track from their upcoming EP on Exploited called "Fissa Tune" to be released on July 2nd. Not much to say about this, except expect to hear it a lot this summer. This is extravagant dancefloor ammunition from "Exploited Records", kicking off with a title track that chops and splices samples of Middle Eastern pipes, klezmer-ish reeds and gulping vocal snippets. It hangs together in an effective, bass-warbling fashion.

A superb varied 4 track Ep of sounds and styles is what we have here. Already the title track is a bit of an underground hit, but pooled with 3 more impressive tracks, makes this release from Exploited Records very sought after. Expect to hear gypsy vibes, jackin house, 4/4 mashup stylee, cheeky blatant sampling and more. If you haven’t yet, do discover Exploited !!

ALEC TRONIQ tells himself off - with two fluffy and cheery smilemakers on base of light but raving rhythms. In "Rueffel" he's piping, drumming berserk and doing echoism. A sweet remix is delivered by STEREO EXPRESS from Atmosphere / Burlesque, well-known for their bombs "Shadoorack" and "La Vie En Rose". On B1 Alec crashes a russian wedding, kidnaps "Ljudmila" and entrains her to his own spring meadows. The groover on B2 is remixed by a guy named BUNCHED - cutting, stomping and constantly stepping forward. "Soulquake Girl" parts were recorded in a plenty of places over a long period of time: guitarred and sung in a park of beautiful Dresden at one of the first spring days. Chaffed and reassembled, recorded percussive elements and played the bass guitar by myself in my old studio. Recorded Mario Meusel's solo on his great western guitar in the wooden lounge of his colonial style flat. And then finally finished this song in my new studio :)
