"Rock Me Baby" is a blues standard that has become one of the most recorded blues songs of all time. When B.B. King's recording of "Rock Me Baby" was released in 1964, it became his first Top 40 hit. It is based on earlier blues songs and has been interpreted and recorded by numerous artists in a variety of styles; Allmusic shows over 2,000 entries for "Rock Me Baby". The tune was also recorded Johnny Winter and Jimi Hendrix.

While pursuing my doctorate in education I was studying with the famous guitarist/author Wolf Marshall. I became interested in the work of Pat Martino, specifically his improvisations on jazz standards. Pat and I have become friends over the years and I have, with the help from several other people, begun producing a book of transcriptions of Pat Martino’s improvisations on jazz standards that I hope to someday publish.
