Dedicated to the twang of Roland’s silver baseline box with a varied string of artists: DVS1, Marko East & Jordi Chu (whose collaboration sparked the idea of a whole series), Like A Tim via Prins Thomas, Katerina and I:Cube.

The Parisian put it in a nutshell, too: „Although rinsed to death to the point of becoming a parody of itself, acid will last forever.“ Therefore, his Folie Noire is combining the original recipes with hypnotic European influences, while Marko and Jordi present a rough and direct 303-909 live jam, Prins Thomas puts his wickedest smile on Like A Tim’s Wonderline from 2005 and Katerina sets a lucid dream to sanguine music.

Finally, there is a rare and much desired musical outing by the unique DVS1. A direct ode to Chicago’s acid and beatdown styles and its Midwest companions, it is a heads-down-lights-down late night track made for driving up and down Lower Wacker Drive. Trippy trip artwork by the inimitable Gasius.

Trivia: If the piano is the bread of house music, the acid line is its butter!

This EP shows a period where the artist was heavily influenced by Electro from the early and mid 2000’s, so explored some of the elements of the genre. Includes remixes from Argentinian house legend Manuel Sahagun and also our label boss Imanol.

Bernardo Campos, DJ and music Producer, was born in Rio de Janeiro, his career began in 2008 when he started residencies at clubs like Fosfobox, Dama de Ferro, and Clandestino. Meanwhile, he established himself as a resident DJ in many relevant e-music parties, which culminated in the RARA party - responsible for bringing to Rio music legends. He is also a resident of the parties Cuscuz, Festa do Bbzão, and Água Viva.

As a music producer, he had support from big names like Laurent Garnier, Richard Dorfmeister, Fish Go Deep, Fouk, and also official remixes from Rick Wade, Jkriv, Hotmood, and Felipe Gordon. He edited for labels such as Aureum, Cocada Music, Molotov21, Tree Sixty One, and Underdogs.
In 2019 he created the project Nu Azeite alongside the multi-instrumentalist Fábio Santanna. This project is a mix of boogie, disco, and trip-hop with Brazilian music.

We Could: A true classic in the realm of deep house, "We Could" commences with a kick drum exhibiting a life of its own, accompanied by bongos and a mysterious, fragmented vocal transmission. A crackling ambiance houses cool staccato organ keys harmonizing with a complimentary bassline. As the track progresses, an elusive vocal excerpt emerges, broadcasting only a few cryptic words before being engulfed in a storm of distortion. As if touched by the celestial brilliance of Andre 3000 during Outkast's ATLiens era, the track culminates in a climactic keyboard sequence, reminiscent of a first contact with a beautiful alien world. Here, the music encapsulates a message of peace, love, boogie, and understanding.

ZentaSkai undertook a period of research into the underlying structure and organisation of the human brain before writing ‘The Architecture Of The Mind’. The Berlin-based artist then took what had been learned and kept it in mind when writing the music that marks Mask's first album release. It comes with extensive background notes on each track, and an operational manual of sorts - notes from the artists as to the effects each piece will have on those who hear them. 

"The message conveyed by this album is that life itself is filled with music, but our egos often prevent us from being in harmony with this symphony. Inner chaos and silence can be challenging to bear, leading us to seek solace in external noise. The gorgeous 'Mind Mapping' opens up with deep and dubby drums and lush harmonies that soothe you to your core, '030' then has more raw, heavy drums with many layers of glowing synths, glassy melodies and organic found sounds. 'Fügung' keeps the deep and introspective moods coming before the crisp tech of 'Flow Dreaming' ups the ante with more drive and layers of vocal whispers, hi-hats and smeared dub chords. Elsewhere the likes of 'Quiet Reflection' lean into the groove with swirling pads and one-word vocal sounds drifting through the air over propulsive drum loops, and 'Boiling Range' suspends you in deft synth loops amongst the stars over a prickly house beat. 

The superb synth craft and well-designed grooves continue through the dusty deep house of 'Karl-Marx-Allee' and minimal dub of 'Dynamic System' before the elegant melodic techno of 'Apeiron' and dreamy synthscapes of 'Parallel 30' close the album in a reflective fashion. 

This is a deeply evocative album with a fully realised concept that is as thought-provoking as it is immersive.

Gingerblack is the lovely DJ couple Lilly & Sertac Kazan, hailing as „Lilly & Kazan.“ They have been a suscessful promoter duo in Istanbul and Berlin as well, during the last years.

Their Berlin project „Christa Kupfer“ was kind of unique to the Berlin scene when it started in Feb. 2020. They created a real club experience, „family style.“ Their club nights were not about egos, about being „s*x positive“ or anything popular right now. It was purely about sharing good vibes with your friends, or to become friends, through good music and a sense of community.

Through these club nights Lilly & Kazan made friends with „All That Jelly“ label boss Mr. Fonk who became a resident at their club. They also came in close contact with the House music legend Robert Owens who played unforgettable nights for them. It was a match made in heaven!

Now this collaboration comes to life on hot wax: a 12“ of the purest oldschool House Music, brought to perfection by the flamboyant prince of Vocal House and remixed by Wareika member Jakob Seidensticker and his producing partner MELINA.
