Early pioneers of the German New Wave music scene, Din A Testbild were formed in 1978 by Mark Eins and Gudrun Gut (former member of Einstürzende Neubauten, Mania D. and Malaria!). Din A Testbild played a significant role in defining the avant-garde music of Berlin. Legendary is their partecipation at the “Festival Genialer Dilletanten" in 1981.

'Programm 3’ is their third album. Mixed and auto-produced by Mark Eins with help of Ziggy Schöning, it was released on Klaus Schulze’s record label Innovative Communication in 1983. 

‘Programm 3’ represents a moment of distance from the ‘kraut’ past of the band. Moving out from the legendary Schulze’s studio into a home recording dimension with a basic equipment (Roland TR-808, Moog Source, EMS Synthi, tape loops), the sound of Din A Testbild is radically changing, getting closer to the experimental-electro and connecting the Neue Deutsche Welle with the cosmic disco. It’s well known in fact that Din A Testbild were a favourite in the playlists of the Italian dj pioneers Daniele Baldelli and Dj Mozart, while nowdays you can find them in Matt Edwards/Radio Slave home listening mixes. Bartellow has long been associated with the ESP Institute through Tambien, a trio formed alongside Bavarian cohorts Marvin and Valentino, who have released seminal dancefloor material over recent years. With his debut album Panokorama, we are invited into a completely different world of Bartellow's creation-a place where influences become a melting pot of mood, nuance and texture, and where instrumentation is abstracted from a variety of cultures, including those that exist solely within his imagination. 
Bartellow has found a way to merge Primitivism with Retrofuturism, identifying their point of intersection and reveling in their union across ten songs. While his academic background as a Jazz musician certainly informs both his progressive approach to composition and non-linear production, it is his obsession with electronics and synthesis that shape his current musical climate. 
The title Panokorama stems from Bartellow's visualization of the album, a surreal landscape with a foreign presence centrally embedded, a "panorama" punctuated by a "ko"-although a hybrid word that reads as nonsense, it somehow feels and sounds just right

2017 sees Dekmantel celebrating its 10th anniversary. A decade ago, the Amsterdam crew threw their first party in the Dutch capital; two years later Dekmantel Records followed. To celebrate this special occasion, the label will release ten EPs over the course of 2017 – every month one, starting in March, with the first EP dropping today - from artists that have shaped them into what they are today. On the bill are, amongst others, Ricardo Villalobos, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Fatima Yamaha, Legowelt, and Tom Trago.

For this series, Dekmantel invited producers who are close to their hearts, have been with them since day one or made a big musical impact on the crew. Amongst these are longtime friends like Juju & Jordash, Palms Trax, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Joy Orbison and Young Marco. Apart from these seasoned names, it’s with great pleasure to have welcome newcomers including Huerco S, Ectomorph, Shanti Celeste, Syracuse and Levon Vincent onboard. Last but certainly not least; a couple of stone cold geniuses will be responsible for a track on the series as well. Amongst them are Burnt Friedman, Donato Dozzy, Tony Allen, The Egyptian Lover and Ricardo Villallobos. 

The third EP in this series is from Novel Sound boss and New York techno don Levon Vincent, Dutch synth wizard Legowelt, plus label regulars Joey Anderson and Central. Vincent goes first with ‘Untitled’, a deep and rueful roller with his typically well crafted, future sounding synths and delicate glassy piano keys. Legowelt’s ‘Blue Austral Techno’ is as cosmic and spaced out a track as you would guess from the title and is perfectly blurry and analogue in design, while Anderson’s ‘Opened Gate’ is a deep and late night cut with jacking percussion forcing a groove as golden and majestic chords ring out into the night and truly zone you out. Last of all, Central impresses with his spacious sense of deep house groove, inventive textures and mixture of the synthetic with the organic in fresh new ways.

A solid set of productions by Skober, which makes this release perfectly proper for Respekt&#8217;s world.</p>
