Hans Glader - The Town

The tall build overlooked the city with an overbearing sense of presence. The people who walked upon the streets beneath the towering beast were undermined and overwhelmed by its existence. It cast a shadow into the core of their homes and their lives. Within the confines of the luxury suites and the sprawling penthouses the rich would dine and play, happy in the carefree sense of disregard which was afforded to them by the four walls. Out there on the streets it was tough, a stark contrast to another life. 

Shelter On Wax is set to release a new EP called "Oranienstrasse" on Lagaffe Tales. The Berlin based producer offers great promise and we were also startlingly impressed by the Gnork remix which is lush, elegant house music at its finest.

The portuguese crew NSD strikes again with a new V.A., showcasing through 6 tracks the multiple directions that cross the label’s wideranging dance music aesthetic. From Dj Spielberg’s infused electro, to the proto-ghetto-house of Dj Legwarmer or the hazy vocal and breaks of Moreno Ácido, the A-Side is a ready one to any flared up dancefloor. On the flip, things get relaxed in a classical B-Side. Native Cruise introduces balearic senses to italo motorika, Dj Unsure presents his distinctive immersive and sedative slow-mo, and Dj Baywatch closes the mini compilation with a never-ending-mediterranean-summer cut. Collectively, the tracks emerge as a path, from the deepest hours in the club to the lull of the new beginnings.

For this 36th Premiere of 2020, we have a track by the DJ/producer from Paris, France "NiKiT" from the upcoming mini-LP "Radar" [EE030] on the Dutch Label : Electronic Emergencies.

Electronic Emergencies is a record label from Rotterdam, the Netherlands. It was founded in 2014 by Spacemaker and Leather E, two DJs who have their roots in electronic music. They both love electronic sounds and melancholy melodies and are not bound to any style. The label’s aim is to release a wave of beautiful electronically generated music.

The track we have chosen to premiere is the B3 and is entitled ‘Mechanics’. It will be available from March 9th, 2020 on Vinyl (8-track mini-LP, 300 copies, hand-numbered) and on Digital & Streaming on March 23th, 2020.

'Radar' by Parisian DJ and producer NiKiT is Electronic Emergencies' first release in 2020. Two years after his debut, NiKiT has once again delivered a stunning mini-album. His idiosyncratic and particular style within the realm of techno flirts with electro, and sometimes even has a dubby touch. Compared to his debut 'Arcanes', NiKiT’s sound has expanded and is more spacey, while staying powerful and very danceable. Celebrated Dutch painter Ditty Ketting conceived the mesmerising cover art.

Jozef K is a very real talent with a unique sound - combining melodic house elements with futuristic soundscapes, Chicago house and early U.K. rave/jungle nostalgia. All drawing from the same emotive palette. He has been releasing music in such a manner for years now, garnering constant high-profile press support and DJ backing from major tastemakers who reach for his tracks. The single from this album Ladies & Gentlemen We Are In Descent, exemplifying this with personal support from prominent underground figures - DJ Seinfeld, Laurent Garnier, Brame & Hamo, Levon Vincent, Lauren Flax and many more.

This ambitious full length is further expansion into his unique sound; a roller coaster of emotions through house, ambient and jungle. Restriction opens the album with deeply immersive ambience, soft drums and muffled spoken words, hinting at the excitement that is to come. Inhale/Exhale is a dreamy, lo-fi house trip. Indigo Isabelline follows with pure, hypnotic deep house bliss, utilising dusty drums and ethereal pads. Track 4 - Tokyo Harmonic Sequence, is an expertly stripped back deep techno cut featuring haunting vocals, brooding bassline and atmospheric soundscape textures.

After the rave nostalgic feeling of L-O-V-E, with its warehouse breakbeats and far-sighted chords, heavily coveted album single Ladies & Gentlemen We Are In Descent is an ethereal, acid track perfect for a sunrise moment. The smooth and seductively deep atmospheres continue onto the cavernous, hard hitting T.2.A.T.D.before an all out jungle assault via Caught A Glimpse Now It Haunts Me, combining breakbeats, sirens and Reese bassline to maximum effect. This track would not be out of place on a Bluematter record. Penultimate track, Golden Galaxies Made Of Light is an otherworldly, pensive, ambient moment, guiding the listener into the stunning, emotive closer Sunrise MCR, which is Jozef’s way of bringing this masterful record home to his beloved city.
A standout debut album from a unique producer.
