Having made appearances on imprints like Ombra Internatonal, Lumière Noire, Her Majesty’s Ship and her own newly minted Club Forever label, Justine Forever joins the Human Endeavour family for its sixth release.

This fresh body of work, ‘Out Of The Blue’, continues her pursuit to connect the dots between cold wave, punk and the uninhibited abandonment of dark, sweaty dance floors as she ushers us into the shadows with three propulsive, tripped-out cuts, each one more intoxicating than the last.

For the first time since the label’s inception last summer, Human Endeavour bring on board two remixers to round off the release, both of whom are fellow explorers of the dark, psychedelic realms of the electronic universe. 

Hand picked by Justine herself, French producer Cate Hortl and Mexican artist Undefined Pattern reinterpret ‘My Blood’ and ‘Out Of The Blue’ respectively. The former ups the tempo placing her signature cocktail of dark pop and coldwave-tinged synths centre-stage, while the latter subtly retouches the titular track, shaping it into a pounding techno stomper that’s primed for the dance.

Some things just make sense and we’re pleased present the first collaboration of 2 of our favourite artists : RED AXES & C.A.R. 
This release has been a long time coming. Tracks were first exchanged back in 2014 and it’s been an organic, intuitive process. Like-minded musically & likeminded lyrically - Red Axes & C.A.R. seem to work the same way. Recordings happen fast. One or two takes. It’s punk and it’s effortless. 
1960’s, psychedelic 2040 arrived on queue. A sweaty, London-summer evening, after spending the day writing alone out Hackney Marshes, Chloé demo’d the vox. - languid, nostalgic, at arm’s reach from the city - the track depicted the moment perfectly. A paper thin Victorian wall separating her from the chatting neighbours, she shut her eyes and got as close to the mic as possible. 
A few weeks Red Axes & C.A.R. were together in Tel Aviv. Ten times sweatier than London. To say the studio was dripping hot is an understatement. There was a party heaving in the square below, a van parked in the middle, broadcasting out on the radio waves. Dori was determined to use the intimate London vocals for 2040 and so they cracked on with Incognito, a club track that isn't one but works in its own way: rockabilly reverbs, an almost hip-house delivery, the strange alchemy of 808 fumes. Already inebriated from the city, Chloé had written her words off-cuff in the hotel room, just hours before.
Fastforward a year. Summer 2015. Niv had sent Space Cream a few months earlier - an electronic 4/4 ballad which already featured looped samples of some of the stuff they’d recorded in Israel. Heady and sticky, Chloé had to wait for longer days before she could get anything down.
Finally XMan, descends further down into psychedelia… Perfect for the London winter closing in. Heads filled with Cookie Mueller & memories of losing oneself in dark, basement parties - the words rolled off the tongue. 
Last autumn Red Axes invited C.A.R. down to London’s Pickle Factory to perform Incognito live. During soundcheck she penned some words for a new track they were debuting, which they also ended up doing. It’s an experience synonymous for this collaboration. What comes easy, makes sense.

He was deeply uncertain as the lights began to flicker prominently in the dark of the midnight hour. The street was illuminated by the pearly glow of orange beams from pillars which looked like metallic aliens had landed precisely spaced upon the earth. Are friends electric? Were the flickering objects his moonlight companions amidst a dream which had left him feeling lost and far away. Walking slowly he began to moved between the glowing frames, he danced.

London residing, Franco-Canadian Chloé Raunet aka C.A.R. has been immersed in the world of post-punk, cold wave and her own brand of off-kilter synth-pop since the days fronting her band Battant. Playful, machine-driven and dark, C.A.R.’s music travels between glacial electronica, post-punk and warming, introspective pop, all emanating from a self-confessed crush on too many genres.

This is the first new material to emerge from Raunet under her C.A.R. moniker since last year’s triumphant and critically acclaimed PINNED album - her first outing on Ransom Note Records. Growing with confidence and maturity with every release, her output continues to expand in both ambition and depth, exploring the outer reaches of left of centre pop.
Taking on the mantle of producer, singer, and songwriter once again, Pressure Drop sees her delve deeper into the shimmering, layered world of synth-laden, shoegaze electronics she’s been hinting at on previous outings

We’ve kept the remix action short but sweet this time around - i.e. not 14 remixes of one record.
Uber remixer extraordinaire Suzanne Kraft re-treats Raunet’s vocals, twisting the track into a brooding, bubbling, late-night, dance floor thing of beauty.

“Stop my heart it runs ahead, like a dog it barks, roll over, play dead.”

Second original track on the EP ‘Suture’ sees her explore the further depths of Raunet’s soul, refining her palette with glimmering, claustrophobic electronics.

This new material - packed with intricate left turns and tiny details flickering away at the edge of hearing - has been mixed by Daniel Avery collaborator Ghost Culture and mastered by Keith ‘Radioactive Man’ Tenniswood

C.A.R. (Choosing Acronyms Randomly) is a musical project conceived by Chloé Raunet, a multi-faceted creative living in London. Her self-confessed crush on too many genres results in a unique blend of glacial electronica, post-punk and warming, introspective pop. 

Following three albums on iconic, queer Parisian label Kill The DJ and UK’s Ransom Note, the live act now consists of herself and Joni Green. This latest combination champions female empowerment, injecting fresh energy and hype into the show. Together, they are building a reputation for pulsing, magnetic, sweaty and unforgettable performances. 

December marked another excursion into uncharted territory with the release ‘avant pop masterpiece’, Anzu. More new songs are tricking their way into the set, and C.A.R.'s next LP is on the near horizon.

A fan of the weirder edges of electronic music, Chloé also DJs and hosts the monthly 'On The Slip Road' show on NTS Radio.
