Keepers of the Wild launches its debut release with NYC’s, Groove Selecta (Alan Arbelaez). It presents us with four early rave inspired jams filled to the brim with historical artefacts, creating a carefree deluge into head nod territory. 'Midnight Sounds' utilizes break beat percussions to imbue a feeling of nostalgic warmth throughout. In respecting the past, it rattles the future with Selecta's original slant keeping it relevant and fresh for today's ears.

23rd release on Swedish imprint "Born Free" run by Daniel Isling & Samo Forsberg. Few months ago we premiered the 20th one, the banging "Pants"  produced by Assar and remixed by Four Legs aka Samo DJ and Elias Landberg from Skudge. It was followed by 2 eps by Sexazoid and Powder. This upcoming ep is signed by the infamous Odopt bad boys straight out the kitchen of Bar Simachev and contains three dark late night groovers. We like a lot "Not An Animal Records" here at LYO and you know it already if you follow us carefully because we already premiered tracks from releases by Man Power, Machete Savane and head honchos Ess O Ess. Now, for his first outing on NAAR, Eric Duncan presents us with "Shut it", a full bore techno-Disco work out, complimented by an altogether more cosmic yet tribal remix from living legend Daniele Baldelli, alongside production partner Marco Dionigi. 
On the b-side you will find "Zona De Perigo", premiered here, which is a compelling mongrel affair showcasing a drug chug rhythm with a new-age feel, and melodies that border on the anatolian, before breaking in to a satisfyingly arpeggiated conclusion !

Maajo stands for May. The month of excitement and expectation of imminent joy. A time of hope following weeks and months of rain and cold. The time that best encapsulates escapism, those wistful, delightful daydreams. A time when you release yourself from everyday routine and already begin to live in the holiday that hasn’t yet arrived. A place that might not even exist. Let it be a warm, a joyous place, a fuzzy bricolage you witness after passing out while watching a David Attenborough documentary. Outlandish and romantic ideas of distant cultures. Maajo is motion, movement from one place to another. It is moving without travelling, dream and dance.
Maajo is a musical continuation of the similarly titled 12” single by Herman Prime, the producer’s idea expanded to a five member band. The music is the product of a mixed technique where vocal samples and programmed synthesizers coalesce with fingerplucked guitars and handheld percussion. Beneath everything run several strong currents of inspiration: an obsession with balearic disco, deep tribal roots, a love of eighties afropop, lessons from minimalist composers and a desire to just dub it up.
Tropic of Tulli is not a direct flight but a meandering journey. Starting beside a flowing river, Kaba sends us on our way with a gentle arrangement of kalimba and a Mandinga poem. Two midtempo groovers, Tum’pi and Makkara, set an expectant mood. Musa Paradisa lands on a tropical island with plentiful percussion and a clatter of mallets. The party starts with the fervent afrodisco number Okudu. There is a strange detour to an urban cityscape with Fode’s meandering bass line and street drummer for company. The path leads to a dark rainforest, both menacing and inviting, following Kofi Obu’s feverish vocal and desertic guitar riff. Darkness is Good is a bout of afrocosmic exploration. A.O.O. offers a final chance for a sunrise dance before the beautiful balearic theme Maajo closes the album with an intoxicated smile.

Hard Ton, Italy's extravagant duo of all things house music are back on Luv Shack Records, unleashing six steaming hot tracks on the "Queer Nation EP" - a precursor to the first full Hard Ton album that is due for 2017. "Queer Nation" has singer Max swapping his falsetto with a dark mangled voice, paying tribute to some essential queer icons over a dry acid house track that rejoices in repetition, and rightly so. "Classic Music" head-honcho and old timer Luke Solomon's remix of "Queer Nation" builds up an intense 707 drum pattern, underlining rhythm guitars and Max's voice, ending in a bold acid climax. Italian newcomers "Younger Than Me" also take on "Queer Nation", marrying an early 80's wave touch with a classic house approach. When Hard Ton pair up with ROTCIV, "Style Ga-Galore" awaits us. The cut up hushed vocals are thrown into a lush melange of filtered pad shots, a 303 bassline and a percussive house groove. "Yeah Yeah" featuring Moralez & Sames is an ode to early Detroit and Chicago house, with Max singing vigorously, syncopated hihats swirling and stabs nodding towards lil Louis. The final track is a LeSale disco dub of "The Way You Rock feat. Mirror People". LeSale strips the original drums completely, rearranging the vox, piano and synths to fit his disco workout edit style, adding a cheeky synth bassline to complete the boogie redress. PREMIERE: Roman Coskun — Feels Like Forever (Original Mix) [Late Night Burners]

Adding and connecting the bits, dots, hats and kicks once again, rtct.records invite two Italians to join forces for a shared EP. It features three tracks per artist and it’s got everything from Ambient over Lo-fi House, Acid, Techno and even Garage. Both of the artists have been making music under different names for a long time now but this release marks the launch of their new monikers: Introducing DJ Chupacabra (@davidepirasmusic) from the mountainous north of Italy and Crisco (@thisiscrisco) from mediterranean Sicily. This is where the Surf & Turf theme of the EP comes into play.
