Following the same pattern as its initial two releases, Where Were We is back with EP004 in a shape of a remix pack: retaining two remixers from the previous pack and introducing two new names on the bill. Both Hong Kong via Nantes Romain FX and Vilnius italo adept Black Feeling delivered massive remixes in the first pack and boy they don't disappoint yet again. Romain has totally reworked the track and infused it with exotic oriental sounds and Black Feeling hits all the marks once again with his signature feel-good italo house vibes.
Since Blaise Balda has already released one EP on Rees' Paradiso Records, it was natural to ask Adam for a remix. Middlesbrough talent shines agent hitting all the right notes and keeping the vibe joyous and the energy pure.
Last but not least are Berlin's italo duo Sauvage World from Slow Motion/Wrong Era fame. Guys are raising the tempo up to 125, tweaking a few bits here and there and adding just a little bit extra of their own magic to make it sound like a proper italo banger for not-so-wrong era we all find ourselves in.

He had been travelling for what had felt like a lifetime through the dense and murky undergrowth in search of the mysterious cavern. Now as he sat perched upon the rubble he truly knew his purpose.

Hiber-nation EP was Recorded at Siesta Delfauno, Buenos Aires, Argentina in December 2019. A place steeped in history and that has seen artists like Carl Craig , DJ Hell and Rob Acid grace its halls. Ara-u worked alongside engineer and member of Argentinian electronic band Klauss Pablo Gil, while getting lost in red wine and deep into the jam amongst a mix of analogue machines. Ara-u edited the resulting takes and put together the EP : Hiber-nation

Bulletdodge Records release a new album from label stalwart, Werner Niedermeier entitled 'Time & Again'.
German artist Werner Niedermeier has been mastering his craft for more than 25 years, nurturing his audio production, engineering and mastering skills to a professional studio standard. He has released an array of music on labels such as on Supplement Facts, Rue De Plaisance, Phonica, Biotop, Bedrock, Get Physical, Audiomatique and Scottish label Bulletdodge Records that have provided him with a platform to express his artistic flair. In keeping with Bulletdodge's new musical direction, Werner has constructed an album that demonstrates an eclectic approach to composition and arrangement.
'Soyo Kaze' begins proceedings in meditative fashion as the dreamy undertones harmonise with the organic drums and sparse textures before 'Global G' combines sparkling tones, sweeping pads and stabbing synths. The intricate sound design continues in 'Electrum' - electro-tinged rhythms and humming low frequencies balance together wonderfully whilst 'Odd Yssey' reveals deep, broken-beat grooves and trippy melodies with dubby echoes underneath. Up next, funk-fuelled synth links and floating arpeggios take the focus in 'All Alone' before leading into the glitched-out, psychedelic cut 'Kuchisabishii'.
'Get 2 Get R' permeates with revolving fx, cosmic energy and calming chords whilst 'Thursday' is a low- slung track with sluggish sonics, laid-back cadence and soothing ambience with everlasting tranquillity. 'Lightbulb Moments' moves smoothly with murmuring waves, shamanic humming and meditative soundscapes in this ethereal spectacle of sound. 'Level Unknown' then deploys slow-burning sequences, sludgy frequencies and heavenly builds transporting you down the wormhole until 'Clouded Thoughts' provides a cinematic feel with emphatic synth work. To finish, 'Täknology' provides entrancing swells of ambience, poignant modulations and oceanic bliss rounding off this exquisite album beautifully.
This album is an ethereal yet explorative body of work journeying through various sonic realms with effortless grace and mastery from Werner Niedermeier.

Configurations Of Self off-shoot, Life Scripts welcomes back head honcho Alexander Church and James Welsh as Common Factors, as the pair deliver their second EP, ‘Perversions Of Loss’.

Title cut ‘Perversions Of Loss’ is a shimmering slice of entrancing electronica, delving deep with a medley of playful strings, breaks and distorted low-end frequencies. ‘Inference’ focuses on warped basslines, swirling synths and floating melodies all sitting upon a rolling break. Next up, ‘Existential Truths’ offers five and a half minutes of jungle influenced nostalgia, as we see Church and Welsh enlist off-kilter drums alongside trippy effects and oscillating synths. To close, ‘Escape Hatch’ is a raw and wonky techno track that perfectly marries the elements of light and dark. This latest EP highlights why Common Factors have been picking up love from the likes of Tom Ravenscroft on BBC6 Music, Ransom Note and a raft of top DJs.

Under the surname RESET, VOlumens faced in 2020 one of the most atypical editions, due to the situation caused by the COVID-19, but no less special. The current situation has meant that the festival had to launch all its thinking machinery in order not to stop being celebrated in this unusual and round 2020. In October, the festival held a day at the Teatre El Musical with the best of the avant-garde in electronic art, both sound and visual. Also, as a space for reﬂection, he organized a round table and several online performances that could be seen on the ofﬁcial channels of the festival and that obtained more than 153,000 views.
One of the biggest efforts that the International Festival of Art, Science, and Technology launched during the quarantine, was to collect more than 40 tracks that gave an insight into what VOlumens has been and is, and that will expand the sensory experience for a long time. "VOlumens Reset - Compilation 2015/2020" brings together artists who have gone through the 5 years of the life of the festival. It is “a look back that serves to face the future in collectivity and community. A manifestation of creativity and commitment ", says Antonio José Albertos, director of VOlumens. Compile a selection of 31 audio tracks and 17 audiovisual tracks by artists such as Oscar Mulero, Murcof & Gnomalab, Paul Prudence, Susan Drone, Boris Divider, Fraction, Lex-Or + Martinovna, Suso Saiz + Sergi Palau, Artiﬁciero + Susan Drone, Log 31, Deathvox + Past, Miclono, Serious Cut, Finalversion3 + Sergi Palau, Otro + Jordi 8lasco, Jheal Bashta + El Imaginario Vj, Promising Youngster + El Imaginario VJ, and a long list of other artists have offered VOlumens their creativity and sensitivity for electronic, underground and avant-garde music since the festival was born in 2015. The compilation, which can now be pre-ordered through the VOlumens bandcamp page (https:// volumens.bandcamp.com/releases) and Envelope Structure, will go on sale on March 7th. The physical edition is limited with an exclusive design USB Drive. The response to the current situation had to have symbolic, solidarity, collective, and a strong commitment for supporting all the creators who have been adding each edition. That is why each theme, each artist, and each audiovisual piece has been carefully selected.

We are a niche imprint, established in 2019 by producer & sound designer Alexander Church, fusing academic teachings, music, & passion for visual media.

The concept is based on psychological theories & ideas, with each piece of music representing emotional responses to the processes, feelings, and self-awareness that label boss Alexander Church has experienced through his study of psychology and counselling. The track titles are a direct reflection of these, allowing for greater awareness of the multiple defences, behaviours, and personality traits one has.

Each EP, some of which are vinyl-pressed, is themed around a particular part of Church's life and academic journey, with accompanying media showcasing Church's own photography of rural & empty places, lakes, and the coast. Melodic, atmospheric and expansive sounds paired with deep, futuristic dub, breaks, & techno that connect on both the mental & physical level is what we strive for.

As an off-shoot of Configurations of Self, the new Life Scripts imprint will focus on more experimental, ambient, minimal, and breakbeat sounds, inspired by the use of boutique analog synthesizers from Buchla, Black Corporation, Portabella, and Erica Synths, including the Syntrx and Sky Dada System. It stems from the collaboration of Church & frequent studio partner, James Welsh, who together make up the newly formed duo, Common Factors. A name and idea which arose from the two producers’ first encounter and the realization of their many common interests, particularly synthesizers. 

While most of the releases will be from Church & Welsh, they are also open to other stand-out producers with whom they may collaborate.  

Already receiving outstanding early support from the likes of BBC's Erol Alkan & Tom Ravenscroft, NTS Radio, John Digweed, Sasha, Nick Warren, Jamie Stevens, and more, the label has seen 7 EPs since its inception in Jan. '21, including the latest 2022 release with @just-b-4.

"Life Scripts are unconscious relational patterns derived from childhood reactions and experiences. They begin at birth, are reinforced by parents, justified by subsequent events, and culminate into a chosen alternative, outside of awareness, for the remainder of adult life. They can be either extremely empowering or severely limiting."
