There is no doubt that the Latin American underground music scene has established itself, over the last years, as a important creative power, with innovative movements and exporting talents to the whole world. In face of an entire generation of young, talented new artists, the creation of new musical collectives has emerged as an evident response for these communities. The collectivization as a salve for the commercialization of DIY spaces and creations.
Especially powerful in Latin America, forming a collective is about more than pooling resources, it offers an opportunity to expand visibility and uplift the creative vision on a wider scale. While we can’t completely dismantle the capitalist model of music production and distribution, collectives enable artists to create a coherent aesthetic vision within a capitalist framework – a crack in the wall of the often exclusive music industry.
Based inside the creative center of Brazil, São Paulo’s city, the young Brazilian label In Their Feelings spares no effort when it comes to supporting young Latin talents. Featuring a collection of twenty tracks signed by a group of the continent’s most promising talents, bands, producers and experiments, the collective releases it’s new compilation, “Escape From São Paulo Vol. II”, with works from Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, Mexico, Chile and more. The compilation presents artists that not only helped to make visible the work of producers in the region but also transformed club music with their individuality and identity.
Besides musical selection curated by brazilian artist and one of the collective’s founder,  Davis, the names comprised in this year’s edition of Escape From São Paulo includes a crew of rising female music producers, such as brazilians based KENYA20Hz, Diaz, Amanda Mussi, ACAPTCHA, Frontinn, Paraguayan producer Victoria Mussi and legendary Kamila Govorcin, from Chile. Also, tracks from brazilian co-founder and producer Zopelar and nonbinary São Paulo based artist White Prata.

The mall was crowded with people, they weaved and wandered their way between storefronts enjoying mindless consumerism at its finest. All of a sudden there was a parting of the crowds as a young man sprinted down the corridor towards the exit. In the distance a security guard could be seen chasing helplessly as he shouted "ho!" in the mere hope of encouraging the thief to stop. Onlookers laughed, chuckled and cheered, this was to be there afternoon entertainment, as bleak as that was. 

Steve Marie is set to release a new EP for the newly launched record label Philoxenia, it's a club focussed affair which doesn't take itself too seriously. We dig it and reckon you might hear it in a club near you soon...

This one is out to the city beneath, just out of sight but always in mind.

Eluize returns to Craigie Knowes to release her second album in the form of the beautifully eclectic 8-track 'Gone' LP. Ambient and Experimental sounds feature alongside club-ready Techno and Electro - moving effortlessly and coherently across genre and influence.

'Gone' captures the full-spectrum of Eluize's mastery in song-writing, composition and production in all of its shimmering glory. Her take on synthesis, drum-programming, mixing and original vocals / lyrics take you by the hand and lead you into a rich garden of colour and sound in what is likely her most accomplished work to date.

'Gone' will also feature 2 semi-abstract videos directed collectively by the artist and videographers based in Berlin; the city where the album was written.

Eluize recently launched a coaching / mentoring program focused on supporting Womxn, Non-binary and Trans people in technical production, performance and label management within the realm of electronic music. Sharing her expertise and experience in music production, live performance, djing, releasing music, label management and general support around balancing life, mental health, motherhood, living abroad and the trials and tribulations of working in "the industry”.

Her efforts to elevate the dance music community through action as well as production is testimony to her character's force as a vessel for positive change.

'Gone' will be available on vinyl and digital from the 19th of October 2020.
