We present to you our 3rd compilation, Cube, a set of 8 tracks that, as usual, go in different and intriguing musical directions. 

We welcome a brand-new group of artists to the label: Anatolian Weapons starts it off with a slow acid burner; Azaria follows with a hypnotic trance-y track; Ruksby picks up the tempo with an acid-infused EBM heavy-hitter; WLDV gets dark and dirty with an Industrial/EBM smasher; Kidaudra offers a high-tempo monster; Orchid delivers a fun electro-italo track; the recently formed Oblako Maranta project contributes a haunting leftfield track; and Robert E. Lion’s Drums full length exists as an exploration in multiple dimensions. First by challenging the notion of the album format by presenting a body of work that lies snuggly between remixes, edits and original works and secondly as a means to delve into the transcendent potential of the drum. The album sets the tone by putting these two concepts fully on display with its hypnotic chant, swaying one into ease over the first two songs. In orderly cue folding and unfolding, meditatively through, melodies as muddied pastelle whispers cast over the measured language of the drum. Breaking away from the musing themes of the opening songs we find an ecstatic ritual in "Tanz der Körperlinge" and "Journey to Middle Earth”, two distinct varieties but both of the same perennial species. Inky ether seeps back in through the second half of the album with a peak of frenzied tumbling toms and incongruous textures hovering above in the Manos Tsangaris’ collaboration “Crying Tafel” and his re-imagining of Tullio De Piscopo’s unhinged drum excursion “Fastness”. The closing exemplifies the edit/remix/original ethos proposed for this work with Lions Drums drawing from tapes and original material of electronic pioneers Suzanne Ciani and Roberto Musci. Drawing from unreleased music and song sketches by the original artists as well as field recordings from travels & studio sessions made by Roberto Musci & Manos Tsangaris in the 80's and early 90’s he constructs a side winding journey through playful textures and ethereal moods.

Guatemalan collective & mini label Sonido Moderna is about to launch its third release. This time an EP with the italo-french duo A Tweed & Kubebe called “The Garden” a psychedelic journey filled with raw and honest sounds with two remixes, one acidic beauty by the Japanese producer Akio Nagase and a “Reggae-Trón remix” (as he called this one) by Fabio Me Llaman Soltero.

Roam Recordings kicks off 2022 with up and coming Canadian artist RJ Maxwell who brings forth two original electronic dance floor movers. The title track - Motherboard - is a driving energetic offering with melodic electronic underpinnings. The second original - Activate - is an upbeat chugger with a playful vocal. The EP is backed with three diverse remixes. The first is from Wonder Stories boss AIMES who infuses dark psychedelic energy into a shimmering remix of the original title track. For the second remix Canadian cohorts jON2 join in with a gorgeous low slung version of Motherboard. Rounding it out is Roam’s own Jason Peters who edges Activate into cosmic breaks 
territory.
