There is no roadmap, just as there is no genre. Before was fun and important, but it was only one of the preludes. After four shows, we now come to my personal core of this musical cosmos. It becomes electronic. Synthesis and synthesizers. drum machines and vocoders. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow. electrified!

Welcome back. Still not sunk? Today will help, with a special program about magnetic tapes, noise and ingenious dilettantism - Kassettentäter - A special scene from the underground, because since the mid-1970s it was possible to record and release music from every child's room and every basement. Since that time, portable cassette recorders and four-track devices were available everywhere affordably in West Germany. Tapes!
Frank APunkt Schneider describes in his book "Als die Welt noch unterging" quite aptly the cassette scene as "the hyperactive child of the NDW era". The whole book is also highly recommended in other respects.

Nevertheless, I tried to find a line through the hour. Musically it goes in the direction of Synthpop/Wave; made in Switzerland, Austria or Germany as always. Also I was not very strict with the thematic selection, so that current releases are also heard. good music is just good music . Have fun.

Space Is The Place #2

Hi Folks, you just found your way to my new series. I want to give my personal overview of German speaking music during the little period between '79 and '84, which was mostly made in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, but not too dogmatic with some exceptions from these countries and also from the time-stamps.

The first part is called Lieblingsstücke, because I wanted to start with no special topic and also to present a few oddities of my collection. I’m not completely satisfied with the result, because it was a bit chaotic this evening. but hey, I guess chaos and freedom of everything was the embodiment of this time.

This time we find ourselves in the realm of punk and focus on NO FUN. The borders are floating, even if they should actually be completely gone.
