Zakmina starts the trip. Building on recent release on Nein and XXX, here he ploughs a thunder like bass chug that gradually builds in its intensity. It’s a perfect scene-setter for the sleazy funk that follows; Salto Honduras continues to make the conversion from DJ to producer with the dark and drum-heavy ‘Betonada’ while Pontias takes us to the edge of the universe on a rocket made of slo-mo techno with ‘Easter Eggs’. Slow, heavy and star- gazing sexy. Dig deeper for more smouldering grooves as Mike Sacchetti’s ‘Dead As Disco’ gets full- on psychedelic in an early 200's Ewan Pearson kind of way while Volta Cab brings this heady session to close with a series of fractured electroid beats, lavish sweeping pads and a grizzly analog bassline that anchors this track deep deep deep into the dance, the night and our psyches.

Yamil is in a state of creative grace. His releases on influential labels such as MoBlack, Solar Distance, Sudam, Madorasindahouse, King Street, Radiant and LNDKHN are the best proof of it, most of them have placed themselves on the first positions of Beatport and Traxsource’s Top 100 sales charts.
Now, the Spanish producer has decided to step forward in his career with the creation of his own label Pieces Of Life, with which he will release  his first LP, being the label’s first reference. Under the title of “POL Talks” Yamil has reflected “something unique and different, deeper than my usual sound. A journey in which each track tells a different story but giving sense toone ensemble” he says. In fact, the idea of creating the label Pieces Of Life is motivated precisely to unleash all his creativity, without imposed restrictions or limitations by the dominant trends.
“POL Talks” was born at the end of 2018 and its creation process lasted through last year as Yamil needed time to involve all the musicians and artists that he wanted to add to the project. The Colombian duo MNKYBSNSS really stand out, who recorded the instruments in Bogotá, the Spanish band HUMANICE, the vocals of the also Spanish wxlf RAIN or the Brazilian singer DYMNO, who worked in his study in Brazil. The rest of the rhythmic composition, musical arrangements, melodies and mix were developed in Yamil’s studio in his natal town, Aranda de Duero (Burgos).

The result is a piece of eight original tracks that conform “POL Talks”, eight remoted compositions from labels that flow free from Yamil’s deepest soul as indispensable pieces to understand his life. The first track, homonymous, has an intriguing and mysterious nature that prepare us to what is coming. “Encontrarnos” manages to surprise us with its vitality, fresh air and indies reminiscences. “Deep Red In The Sky” has a soul character and picks up some of the initial deepness that “See You Coming” maintains with sweeter elements. “Never No Right” offers us a little truce, allowing us to relax and enjoy this little heaven of peace that doesn’t go away with “What Don’t Wanne Be”, although it takes us to more emotive sides. “Too Many Questions” adds the needed emotion and darkness to balance the sweet and emotive end with “Endless”. The LP has also a striking cover made by the graphic artists Laura Cruz (Wompaint), a unique piece of art that reflects perfectly the organic nature of these tracks.

We will see Yamil perform the album live in different clubs in the world very soon, as his usual appearances in countries such as Argentina, Italy, Turkey, Lebanon, Holland, United Kingdom, Mexico, Peru, Chile and Panama. For the moment, “Music from the hearth to the soul without mattering the gender or name”, “POL Talks” will be available via Pieces Of Life from 13th December.

For the first of the series, we have the honour to greet three selectors/editors by the names of Good Block, Native Red & RFX. The EP is composed of a mix of heavy percussion throughout, representing the heat that can come from a sweaty warehouse party. Some heavy floor bangers for your aerobics sessions.

A classic track from the London catalogue which is not currently available on the DSPs. The original featured Gary Haisman on vocals and reached no.3 in the UK Singles Chart in 1989. A truly legendary and genre-defining track - it was originally banned by the BBC and is a key part of the legacy of UK dance music. It was also no 1 in 1989 on the Billboard Dance chart.

We have commissioned a new suite of remixes by modern electronic music pioneers - Mall Grab, Rebuke, Nathan Micay and Serge Santiago - who between them conjure up a bag of tricks containing dirty acid, some uplifting house, genre-splicing rave action and a killer underground drum workout.

PREMIERE #700 | SWIN - End Game [Late Night Drum Club] 2019

“Earlier this year I had the great pleasure of releasing a debut album from a new artist called Meetsysteem. This is the remix EP of that album. A couple of years before that I found out Ricky (Meetsysteem) co-produced a couple of tracks I released, so I asked him for his own music. (Ricky is the kind of guy that just makes music on his own and will hardly ever talk about it unless you ask him). A year ago he finally sent me a couple of demos. There were a couple of house and minimal tracks and two pop tracks in the package. They were all great, but these two pop tracks really stood out. Turned out he had about 20 more of those weird poetic dutch pop songs. In the next 6 months we worked closely together to compile, edit, mix and master the tracks - to eventually release the album Geen Signaal last June. The album is completely different from anything we’ve released before. It’s been the most intense but also most rewarding record I’ve worked on so far. In contrast to the album, this remix EP was probably the easiest process for a release. All of it came together spontaneously. I’m super happy the originals inspired others to give their twist to it.”
