Wind Horse label founder Hamza, returns with another swashbuckling offering on his effusive & eclectic imprint, titled ‘Banjara Series - Mali Edition’, curating a 10-track offering that consisting of summery, ethnic & organic house music with subtle elements of disco inspired by the beautiful country of Mali.

The rolling tides, sun-kissed Landscapes & saharan vibe of the nation is echoed with aplomb as the compilation kicks off in frenetic fashion with ‘Nindjougou’ & ‘Tolon’ Featuring the Legendary musician Bassekou Kouyate and his son Madou Kouyate. Incredibly proficient in diverse styles of house music, Hamza displays his prowess for ethnic instruments with Soumba Soumba, Neon Afro & Ben Kadi. The first half of the package certainly gives listeners an aural smorgasbord of the sonic traits of the African nation, fused with contemporary electronic basslines, percussions & pulsating rhythms that are bound to send dancefloors into a tizzy.

Rolling into part dos, the veteran Indian artist ensures that the Malian palette of sounds does not meander in monotony. ‘Tribal Calling’ is quintessentially African, complete with striking vocals & bouncy basslines. Not shying away from his adopted African roots, Hamza gives “Ben Kadi” a re-treatment in the same vein. Busier and stripped down with stabs of delicate chords make this remix a must have. ‘Timbuktu’ follows suit, a tech-house corker with hypnotic vocals that’s meant for those intense & intimate club moments.

“Mali Tech” can be considered to be the crescendo to this magnificent offering, tailor-made for the big room. Banjara Series (Mali Edition) concludes with the gorgeously constructed “Souleyman Sangara”, complete with uplifting and unreal vocals.

Having already impressed via a slew of releases for Correspondant, Live At Robert Johnson and his own Biologic Records, DC Salas tees up an impressive release for Futureboogie.  ‘The Weight Of Uncertainty’ EP illustrates the suave sounds that the Brussels born producer has become noted for, and comes backed with a remix from the supremely talented and always on-point I:Cube.

In its original mix, ‘The Weight Of Uncertainty’ dips into a smorgasbord of sound, as touches of Belgian New Beat slide on up against balearic disco tropes for a spectacular body & soul workout.  The legendary French disco architect and Versatile Records mainstay, I:Cube, floats in on a little fluffy cloud for a terrific ambient dance version, fuelled by the kind of IDM brain scrambling sounds once present in the DNA of producers like Carl Craig, B12, Black Dog and Autechre.

On his two other originals, DC Salas gets raw and grungy on ‘Gliding Sound’, its distorted edge adding to the drama composed by the heavy hitting synth lines and the gnarly percussive pattern, whilst ‘They Don’t See It’ introduces some dark acid elements to the chugging rhythm and steely hi-hats anchoring the tracks off-kilter melodies.

Tulioxi is one of the new great personalities of the Italian Nu Disco Scene. He Has published at least thirtyworks, among EP's, singles and collaborations with other artists.

Tulioxi has established himself as one of the most interesting talents of the new Italian Disco Scene for the last 10 years. His Works are well respected amid the international community of Indie Disco Artists and his name has been circulating into the inner circle of DJs and producers from all over the world.

For the last decade, his released music shows how creative and prolific he is, keeping his productions at a very high level in terms of originality and experimentation, and his search for a personal sound is confirmed in every new work.

He is one of the masterminds behind Cosmic Sumo Recordings and one of the developers of MEFF, theannual Modular synthesizer Exhibition Fair in Florence, tied to the brand Tiptop Audio, one of the mostpopular synth module manufacturers in Eurorack format.

Video Self-Delight is a great piece of work composed by 2 original tracks - Video Self Delight and Zorkan Machine - and 2 remixes by Günce Aci from Turkey and Stockholm Youth (Stockholm Syndrome and Tronik Youth) from UK and Australia.

Vilnius calling, peeps! Skilful Lithuanian producer Bojarchük joins the incredible Quixotical Records with a stunning EP. "Disco Quarantino" brings two well-crafted originals and three fat remixes provided by a top-notch selection of young-but-seasoned international artists: Mmyylo (France), Geerra (Chile), and Della (Spain).

The motif of Bojarchük’s debut EP could not be different: Besides being an aspiring music virtuoso, he is also a promising 25-year-old doctor. Quarantine and social distancing are still a thing at our crazy times, hence his decision of making people dance but have in mind the crisis is not over.

In the energetic and frenzied title track, Doctor Bojarchük proficiently fused his Italo & Dark Disco influences, delivering a piece that properly depicts one of our main cravings during the peak of the lockdown: The necessity of being out there, dancing along with friends and strangers in a packed and sweaty dance floor. Alvaro Guerra aka GEERRA – a talented Santiago-based DJ, producer, guitarist, and singer – strengthens the Italo Disco elements in his remix, adding some vitamins and embellishing the strongest features of the original.

This is an eclectic collection of works that describe my current influences in 2021. Here you can find some techno, cosmic, disco, trip-hop and ambient influences as currently I am listening many different types of music. I also like to experiment with some of my new Roland vintage drum machines (727, 626 and Boss) and some new synths I bought for my studio recently including the fabulous GRP A2.

In this year my music is going through a transformation that accounts some influences from a mega-fusion of styles coming from from labels such as Opilec, Ninja Tune, Permament Vacation, BBE with the usual classic ones such as: MPS Records, Sounds of Philadelphia, SAM, Arista and many others.

All the tracks have been recorded in the Disco Milk Recordings Studios in London where most of the parts have been recorded live and edited as less as possible. Therefore there is no much midi nor much digital programming of beats and rhythms, all is produced using original sessions and no samples are used in these productions.

Coral City Records return early in 2022 with an excellent release. N&W are on duty again here with three stand-out records. ‘Rave’ the A-Side is exactly what it says on the tin. It’s 808 State meets Larry Heard with a touch of Inner City. Stripped down and four to floor. Classic Roland 909 drums are met with a hook that shakes any dancefloor.

‘Speed’ is a killer Nu-Disco / Boogie affair with a nod to the seedy underworld of the 80s, Picture Michelle Pfeiffer throwing shapes on the dancefloor in Scarface,  and you are right on the nose.

‘Cherry’ is an all-out Italo / Hi-NRG workout, the linndrums, the driving arpeggio bassline, and overall melancholy feel, are reminiscent of Bobby Orlando.

PBR Streetgang return to their home imprint KURTZ to deliver their latest EP ‘Sendeturm’, accompanied by a remix from Paranoid London’s Johnny Aux. 

Long-standing members of the house and disco landscape with releases via the likes of Skint, Crosstown Rebels and Futureboogie amongst many, Bonar Bradberry and Tom Thorpe, aka PBR Streetgang, continue to evolve and impress as one of the most consistent and diverse duos on the scene. Holding down residencies at the likes of Pikes in Ibiza, whilst making stand-out appearances at the likes of Glastonbury, Printworks and Love International – a festival which holds a special place within this latest EP – the duo launched their vinyl-focused KURTZ imprint in 2019 in impressive style, gaining support from the likes of DJ Harvey, Bicep, Soul Clap, and the late great Andrew Weatherall. Following a brief hiatus, the duo now return to home turf with possibly the strongest release on the label to date as they unveil their ‘Senderturm’ EP, welcoming Paranoid London member and electro-favourite Johnny Aux on remix duties. 

Opening cut ‘Zoot Module’ welcomes a moody, low-slung slab of electro with haunting riffs and eerie synth lines which hold your sonic gaze front and centre, whilst title production ‘Sendeturm’, named after the lookout tower above the Love International site, takes listeners on a dreamy beat-less ride through melancholic tones and showcases an ode to a summer lost in place of beauty. 

On the flip, Johnny Aux’s interpretation of ‘Zoot Module’ welcomes his signature rough and raw dirtbox sound which buries its way under your skin to reveal a pacey, true body mover, before closing proceedings via the blissful and rich ‘Thru The Shutters’ – a production imagined as the final track in the early hours of a Sunday morning dancefloor and a hypnotic closer that shapes up proceedings in emphatic fashion.
