The Hardway Bros went outre-mer, To seek Mamman Brigitte so fair,
With pockets full of tree frog songs, And voodoo drums and silken thongs.

They sailed beyond the infinite sky, Where Mari Galante’s beauties lie,
Through heat and rain and humid air, They combed the island everywhere.

“Oh Mamman Brigitte!” came their cry, “We’ve brought you frogs that never die!
They sing at night, they sing at noon, They sing beneath the heavy moon!”

But she just laughed a laugh so wide, And vanished with the turning tide,
And left the Bros to stand and stare, At sea and sky and humid air.

Now Hardway Bros play cards with frogs, And sleep on very uncomfortable logs,
While somewhere near the outre-mer, Mamman Brigitte is drinking beer.

The latest Hardway Bros EP is a result of some recent downtime in Mari Galante:

Gimme Some got remixed by Brian Ring. This Berlin based Irish guy is known for his unique style somewhere between house, disco and an euphoric touch of indie dance. With his interpretation of the original version by Jakob Mäder and JULIENT, Brian twists it into a dancefloor friendly and intelligent looped club track. Either for warmup in a cozy bar setting or a hot summer night, this one got vibes: organic disco inspired drums, looped vocal snippets and this reduced melody elements from the original Gimme Some. And of course some classic Brian Ring choir synths we all love!

A trio of hypnotic, shapeshifting grooves from Thomass Jackson that blur the lines between party and paranormal. Unpredictable yet always danceable.

Transcend into orbit with Uritorco Times. (Probably) an ode to Argentina’s most mystical peak, UFO synthesisers flash and bleep around a wonky bassline. The result is equal parts mystic ritual and late night mischief.

Sly yet crunchy Push Comes To Shove rides a killer bassline over off kilter percussion. Sleazy mechanical funk that teeters, entranced between tension and release.

Sonic Witchcraft ensues in Junk Be Gone as the shadowy yet playful bassline twists like smoke around the acid melody summoning rhythm from strangeness.

Junk Be Gone gets the Felix Dickinson treatment for the EP’s remix delivering an extra long rework that stays respectfully true to the original in all the right ways. Live acid bass envelops the original bassline whilst ever intensifying synth solos build to an epic crescendo.

The title track pulls the listener into a darkened sweaty basement, a space where neon lights leer and quivering speakers vibrate. Melting elements of new beat and rave revelry, the track is bawdy and bold. Robotic samples cut through siren blasts, clean snare rolls skidding in thick basslines and creamy breaks. Two remixes follow, both care of fellow French producer: Back From The Wave. First up is the “Breaky Remix”. Adhering to the club origins of the source material, this remake sends melodies ever higher as drums lift elated lines to the stern refrain of “Emergency”. The “Indie Remix” closes. Suba (Kyrgyzstan) with "Enchantment” invites us into a slower, deeper state of movement: a Hypnotic Reverie. Drawing on hypnotic tribal rhythms, the track builds on the waves of percussive trance, a spell woven from sharp beats and drone textures unfolding. The first glimpse into our 13th Altered States compilation is a captivating call to the dance floor.

Millhouse (US) maps the thermodynamics of the dance floor with “Heat Exchange” to induce the state of Kinetic resonance. This cosmic Italo disco exploration translates the push and pull of energy into a tapestry of bassline and melody, resulting in a sound that feels both universally familiar and thrillingly new.

Sarv's (Palestine) "Shartan" evokes a state of Cathartic Resistance. A story forged by Sarv in a shelter under missile fire, the track is a powerful synthesis of Eastern Mediterranean soul: a driving bassline, the strum of a Turkish baglama, and choked Greek vocals that plead, “Help me, feed me, I cannot move, freely, dive deep inside the hive.” It is a dark, hypnotic dance between survival and creation, where ancient arches frame a modern struggle, and movement becomes an act of defiance.

SPEYS's (Poland) "Breeze" evokes a state of Liminal Serenity. Inspired by a fresh spring gust, the track explores an appealing, undefined space between sonic landscapes. It is a cohesive musical ritual that captures the feeling of a gentle threshold, a moment of organic calm suspended between rhythmic definitions.

Jabba 2.3 (France) “What do I want” evokes a state of Sensory Alchemy. It begins with a vocal sample he long coveted, transformed through a slower, psychedelic lens. The introduction of undulating acid loops acts as the catalyst, turning the familiar into a trance of new sonic experience.

Misata's (Russia) "Crystal Error Memory" evokes a state of Lucid Recall. Inspired by the fragility and distortion of memories, the track uses a deep bassline for rhythm and sharp acid lines to create tension, perfectly capturing the sensation of a past moment surfacing with vivid yet altered clarity.
